I know some trucks come front the factory with trailer brakes system already installed in the truck. Is there a way to tell this on a new Tundra? I've looked through the owners manual and see nothing about it?

There is no built in brake controller if that is what you are asking. The wiring is there under the driver's kick panel to plug one in but it is an aftermarket option. Most seem to recommend the Tekonsha P3. I bought one but have yet to install it since there is no cubby to mount it in. But a guy gave me some hope on another forum. Hope to order a new panel this week for around $20 to mount it in the dash. We'll see how it goes.

Here's the panel I'm talking about. Check post #10.

Thanks for the info. When it is time this is probably the route I will take. Unless Toyota comes out with one that is priced competitively.

I mounted mine on the right, just above the tire monitor reset button. It sits perfect and doesn't interfere with my right leg.
