Does anyone know the part numbers for the Trail wheels & caps? I tried searching a few places but no luck.

I haven't seen them around, but haven't looked real hard. You may want to see if @Roman can help - he is the go-to for parts numbers on the forum!

I reached out to Roman and he gave me the part numbers. Let me see if I can find that post.

You will definately like the steps. In my opinion your right on target with minimal mods. I do hope to fab up a removable type of grill guard for highway use. Some sort of dual receiver pin on/off type with built in crunch zone that will keep a deer from getting into the radiator. Also will be building me a headache rack/roll bar with a double frame and bed rails that will allow the back frame to slide to the rear and transform into a ladder rack. I'm a homebuilder and jack of all trades type so got to have rear glass protection that will open to clean the glass and a flexible rack for any sort of goods transport. Enough about me, your truck is a beauty! If you want paint protection, after a wash and dry give it a heavy coat of good yellow carnuba wax, let it haze, then sprinkle corn starch all over it and wipe it off with clean terry towel. No hard buffing, no swirl marks, just a beautiful protective coating! Rinse off the excess dust, there will be a bunch, then dry it. You will love the great finish! Pro detail secret.

New here. First post actually. I only registered for the site after seeing this thread.

Curious how you guys are doing with a bedcover and the in-bed boxes. I got a Rugged 2 cover since I have the bed rails above boxes. However, now that I have the cover, the boxes cannot be opened. The front mounting screw fits (nicely mind you) in the "cup holder" at the front of each box. Did I just get the wrong cover? I liked the idea of keeping my rails in tact, etc. But now the boxes are essentially useless unless I take the cover completely off.

    Thanks!

This hangout seems like a great place to ask a question about "Toyota Connected Services" - this is my first Toyota and I was a little put off by how aggressive the guy at the dealership was about getting it activated before I left the dealership. I told him that I didn't know anything about it and that I'd do some research and then handle it myself. My question is whether or not there is any HARM by not activating it? I'm not worried about the 911 button, I'm not worried about the wifi or navigation services, etc. Everything that I want to work on the truck is currently working, so I guess I'm just trying to figure our if there is any compelling reason for me to set it up. Input and opinions welcome.

In another thread I understood that to keep all of the services after the trial period would be something like $24/month...which I don't really want to pay.

Welcome! I'm new here as well. I got an Agricover roll-up tonneau only because I'd always bought them through Geno's Garage with my previous Dodge/Cummins trucks. I really like the way it mounts to the bed rails in my 2021 Tundra Trail and it doesn't hinder the boxes opening and closing. I can't comment on the Rugged 2, but the Agricover tonneau works well for me.

Much like yourself I think it is all bs. Who needs wifi subscription or 911 in redundancy? Cell phone is plenty enough for me. Everyone trying to nickel and dime us nowadays with subscriptions for everything. Not falling in that trap!

I agree with not caring about the connected services. Since we don't have remote start and wifi can be had through a hot spot on most phones, they're useless for us. I had a 2020 Pro and I probably would've signed up for the remote start after the trial ran out, but that truck got totaled.
I'm actually enjoying this trail edition more than the last 2 Pro's I had. Plus, I like the Cement color.

    Welcome aboard.
I have the Truxedo Pro X15 roll up. It works perfect with the way the rails attach.

Welcome to the thread! This link: https://www.tundras.com/threads/hel...2021-tundra-crewmax-trail.76345/#post-1997832 takes you to a thread where one guy modifies his tonneau cover a little to fit as well as pics of the most common trail edition tonneau cover, the Truxedo pro x15. As far as the connected services, the only thing I see as potentially useful is the emergency services. Whether you get in a bad accident, have a medical emergency, or are way out in the middle of nowhere with no reception, it could come in handy. The other services appear to be a waste of money.

Speaking of that thread @CorsoTundra I've been meaning to ask you, you still maintain full use of your tie downs right? In that pic you posted it looks like a tight fit and I just wanted to be sure.

Tyler pointed you in the right direction on the what some have done with tonneaus and the tool boxes. I wanted a low profile hard tri-fold, so I actually removed and sold my boxes. It seems that the roll up ones are much more compatible with the tool boxes.

I did not sign up for the remote services. I don't think they are worth the cost in the long run.

I will definately play the odds on the medical emergency or accident with no other options aside from the button that may not function anyway if power is lost from the accident, plus if it is that bad I probably wouldn't even remember the button or be able to reach it. Probably would be more focused on escape from potential fire if left coherant after any significant crash. Pretty much a gimmick with just a few cases of actually saving a life. Then there is gps tracking for theft, the law says toyota motor corp must track it if requested by law enforcement regardless of no payment for connection. The law is if they can, they must no exceptions!

That SOS button came on automatically when my 2020 Pro got hit on passenger side, truck flew in the air, and landed on the driver side. I probably wasn't making any sense to the caller because I was like, "WTF just happened." Worried about my truck more than myself. Thankfully made my way out the back window without a scratch, since it was completely gone.

I was able to do some driving at night, and must say that I am impressed with these lights. I need to aim them a bit, but they light up the road much better than the stock halogens. I can barely tell my low beams are on with them. I am definitely satisfied with the purchase, and likely will add some more DD products in the future.

I forgot to mention, I had a remote start installed recently. Man is it nice to be able to start my truck from my phone or from a key fob and then jump in and go.

That will be handy in Wisconsin! Especially so if you remember to turn on defroster when you park.

I was curious if anyone with a trail edition would like to share what they paid for their truck. Looking to join the club but currently negotiating with the salesman. I know they are sort of rare and there is a whole chip shortage but don’t want to overpay if two months later everything is being discounted for the next gen.

My sticker was about 52k and that was with everything except power fold towing mirrors which are about 800 bucks plus switch and labor
