in my opinion if you can't see cars beside you and be aware of your situation then you probably shouldn't be driving. Just sayin, bsm is ridiculous! Soon technology will have dumbed everyone down into a bunch of useless pussies with mush for brains. Be careful what you wish for!

Agreed. Eventhough I have it on the truck I still look all around me all the time.

I've never had a vehicle that has it, so I don't know what I'm missing.

Added door sill guards that are oem. However, the front ones are longer than the rear, so I used them in the rear where the kids will most likely be dragging shoes over the sills. Again Toyota has taken a cheap way out, kinda like the trans oil cooler. They just made it a universal kit for different cab styles vs. making different kits. Most importantly the paint will stay on now! Also got a synthetic leather steering wheel cover that is a near match to my black and grey seat covers. Now trying find me another trailer for some cargo duties, so maybe put my diy roll bar/headache rack and removable grill guard on the back burner for a bit. Time will tell. Also not sure why but truck was idling rough a few days ago after start up. With no time for nonsense, I quickly scanned and cleared codes with my scan guage and all was fine. Something to watch for now. Happy trails to all!

Installed my rear sway bar this afternoon. Install was straightforward except I needed to get 19 mm and 22 mm sockets.

My other car has it. It's a nice feature but not something I would blindly trust to change lanes. Ice build up on sensors basically makes them useless too. I bought some 2" convex blind spot mirrors, same as I used on my old FJ and they work great. BSM is something I can live without complaining on the trail edition.

I have always used those little bs mirrors on all my vehicles, that is $3 well spent! Good choice!

I can report that Clazzio seat covers are awesome on my Trail. I did the Vinyls and used coupon YOUTUBE from their youtube page applied on Clazzio.com.

One issue is that they are very hard to finish on the rear seats. Most installation videos recommend removing the rear seats from the Truck. I didn't feel like doing that, so the sides of my rear seats aren't perfect. But they are good enough for me. That said, all around I think the Clazzios are the best seat covers for the price.

The job took me about 5 hours, but this was the first time I had done something like this.

The head rests are the hardest part. I recommend taking them inside and using your body weight to squeeze them together on the floor, then you can get the cover over the head rest.

Sounds very similar to what I diid. Headrests were very stubborn, but the end result was awesome. Glad your happy!

Clean is a good thing, drivetrain longevity is most important. Personally, I attach a garden hose to a hot water spout piped in my garage and nozzle off the belly about once a week or directly after salt exposue. Poor a little dishsoap into the hose before making connection and then blast it all off with low pressure high volume hot soapy water for the first minute then rinse. Dries fast and clean. Follow with the body wash and dry. Always clean and ready to roll. All because I like to keep my vehicles for a good twenty years and like them to be rock solid dependable. Don't care about looks much, but a solid drivetrain that will get me there is what matters.

Anyone rocking a sport bar/ roll bar/ headache rack/ over cab chase rack on their Trail? Curious if there are ones that work well with the bed's deck rail system and bed storage system.

This passed Sunday I bought and pulled home a 6×12 tandem axle cargo trailer very similar to the uhaul version. Was pulling at about 80mph with tow haul on in a little rain shower and cool morning temps on semi flat land. Scan guage was about 230 degrees most of the time and would climb to 250 if I gassed on it maybe even 260 at times momentarily. Not exactly sure because watching the road is more important than the guage. But I did notice it coming down and in the 250's once. So, the parts will be here soon to install the cooler. Plus will drain and fill a few times since the damn thing got what I consider too hot! Especially sad for a good sized v8 truck to get hot pulling a relatively small empty trailer. Granted there was a headwind and I was moving at a reasonable clip, but Toyota definately screwed the pooch by removing the oil cooler. Got the factory lines and thermostat from Sparks parts for about $330. A decent sized hayden cooler and some hose and clamps arrived from Amazon two months ago. New WS fluid is on the way too, so much for tranny heat problems!! Really sucks to have to add all the much needed crap that was left out during production. Firm rear springs, tough seat covering, decent mirrors, door sill protection, transmission oil cooler, locking gas cap, faux leather steering wheel cover, aluminum oil filter housing, all added. Still needs some real bumbers too! Almost feels like I was cheated out of half of a real truck. I will say this though, it does ride good on the highway both empty and pulling a medium sized trailer. Brings back memories of my 94 f150 that rode like a dream down the highway. Still wish I bought the lightning model at the time. Come on Toyota, give us a pavement princess option with some serious sport tuning. 7 liter supercharged v8 stroker single cab! P.S. a premium sound system would sure help too!

I can report the Truxedo Sentry CT bed cover fits the Trail Edition Tundra perfect. The brackets they use are so easy and tiny. Installation is super fast. Zero modification or drilling required. Highly recommend.

I have an Advantage Hard Hat Premier tonneau and it works great with the boxes. Hard trifold with a canvas trimmed exterior.

The tonneau fits and works perfectly with no mods.

If you want to open the storage boxes with the cover on, the only thing you need to do is trim an inch off the bolt that the tonneau secures with on either side of the bed near the cab. The cargo box will open up and hit this bolt otherwise.

Where are you from? In Canada if you want to keep your car from rotting a yearly coat of rust-inhibitor (Krown, Rust-Check, Corrosion-free) is a must. In high humidity summers a wet undercarriage is a guarantee for rust. I just had mine Krown'd. Never used it before but they did a good job. I am a big fan of Fluid-Film; no one sprays it around here so I do it myself on past vehicles. I only went Krown because I just got the Tundra and it's cold AF out for me to do a DIY. Might go Krown for a a yearly winter spray and top up with Fluid Film in the early summer. All options actually work!

Just Krown’d my new Trail Edition here in central Indiana. I have to drive just across the border in Ohio to get it done, but the guy there is great. We don’t have harsh winters, but they use so much salt. That combined with wet, hot summers can be murder with the rust.

I plan to have mine under coated with NH Oil. I have a place near me that does a great job for a fair price. It sucks that we have to protect our vehicles from all that nasty salt.
