Our plans have changed slightly and we will be camping near Kenosha Pass. I’m unsure if we will drive over for the day to join the group. I might let the wife have a relaxing day reading and I might come with my son. :fingerscrossed:

Thx for the info. My brother tried this trail years ago and had to turn back because he kept losing the actual trail. Sounds like the funtreks description is spot on. Looking forward to it.

This sounds like a lot of fun, but i don't think i'll be able to make it (or if i was even invited, lol). I do have a membership with TrailsOffroad and they do not list any concerns on the Yankee Hill to Central City route that would concern me. They usually include "full width" or "pinstriping" warnings when appropriate. They do rate the trail as a 3 (moderate), but I wouldn't expect any issues for you guys. Have fun!

No formal invitations needed! I don't know everyone yet, so it's hard for me to invite.

Who wants to volunteer to be our fearless leader? @Grumpy Uncle ?

If you are Android i have no idea...

    If you are iOS:

In Chrome go to trailsoffroad.com > trail you want > tap the DOWNLOAD GPX button
    tap Download when prompted
    tap "Open in"
    tap "Save to files"
I create a folder so i can manage newly downloaded files then move them elsewhere once i've imported them into Gaia.

    Then i open Gaia
tap the + at the top of the screen
    tap "Import File"
navigate to your folder where you stored it and tap on the file

You should get "Imports Complete" or something of that nature.

    * Be sure to clear your previously downloaded file at the bottom of your chrome browser before you download the next file
** I usually download several files for an area (nearby trails is a nice feature for this on trailsoffroad), then after importing them i select all in the folder, and move them to a subfolder called "imported" or something that makes sense to you.

There is likely a better method, but this works on iPhone XR for me with TrailsOffroad + Gaia.

Cool. I was wondering if I should pay for the off-road/overland features. I'm not sure I need them though.

That’s why I didn’t pay for it yet looking to see if the software is something that works. So far, for the type of off roading I do, it’s been good enough.

    Trails offroad or Gaia?
Same answer i guess, i pay for both, but i believe with trailsoffroad you could get the gpx files without issue. I used to pull them from traildamage.com back in the day and load them in googleearth just for fun.

I used to use Free versions of both, but my kids got me subscriptions for fathers day. The main reasons i upgraded the TrailsOffroad account to Full-Access was for access to the trail warnings (such as the full-width or off-camber), some additional trails, and to support the site.

I forget the reason that i decided to upgrade Gaia, but if i recall it had to do with download maps for off-line abilities(?).
