Wow, thanks for the warm welcome everybody! Feels like the first community I’ve been a part of since my wrestling days. Alright well I’ll try to address as much as possible but more will come to me later I’m sure. About a year ago I was looking to trade in my 08 frontier because I finally had the means to do so. I was pretty impulsive because I was a dumb kid who knew nothing about credit and destroyed mine so when I seen the loan I was approved for I jumped on it because I never had anything close to as nice LOOKING as the f150 I got. After a week I noticed how weak and unresponsive it felt to me for a full size truck. It only had 17,000 miles when I got it and and at about 18,000 the transmission slipped. I thought maybe it was just a one time thing and possibly still breaking in. Then it did it again when I was trying to pull on to the highway and another time when I was trying to pass someone. Now, I had been calling the dealership from about a month after I bought it and about every three weeks after that. Then the last time the transmission slipped I laid into them with my displeasure, unsatisfaction and disappointment with America’s best selling truck. Finally they said they wanted to make it right and set me up with a brand new 18 tundra for almost the same price, they even ate some negative equity for me! Side note, it was through my bank that I’ve been a member for 10 years and currently have two auto loans through between the wife and I. I couldn’t be happier, it’s a truck that feels like a truck in every way. Doesn’t just LOOK like a truck but performs like a dream. I’ll get into more details on the next post, like how cheap feeling the f150 was. I kinda feel like this one was too long but wanted to give everyone the background.

    Welcome!

I had a Ford once. Once. I learned that what Ford considers normal, a typical person considers unreliable, expensive and even dangerous.

Yep! My mid 90s Ranger had a serious vibration and was “normal” to Ford.

Did the same thing myself! Had a 2012 EcoBoost with the condensation/cylinder misfire problem. Traded that for a 2013 5.0 that had the fuel pump fuse melt at 95k miles and had to be towed as well as some random loose wire that wouldn't recognize the key when starting. So I went for the truck I should have bought the first time that won't break. Yeah, the gas mileage is a little lower, but the truck was also $12k cheaper than its Ford equivalent. That's a lot of gas, and I couldn't be happier!

Welcome from WA. I also had a F150, and old 99 that was basically good but was having issues to TSBs that should have been a recall imo. Love the Tundra.

What's up with that profile pic looks like you getting hauled off someone's property. Everyone told you backyard wrestling ain't a real sport. All hell they probably got you stealing hood emblems off old Mercedes. Just kidding glad you went with Toyota I have talked to quite a few owners no problems from factory only if they did something on their own. ENJOY
