Mine was built 6/3 and I was told yesterday by the sales guy that there was a hold. Of course, he didn't know why.

Have you seen any built in July? Mine was built July 1st and as of yesterday wasn't added to the hold yet.

The sales manager I spoke with thought it was the axel bolts not torqued down properly. It came up a few weeks ago but his theory is most of the trucks affected were in transit until now. Those trucks beginning to hit the port / rail yard triggered the holds were seeing. If the truck was built after they found out the problem, they would have been fixed at the factory. July 1st might be good.

I'm hoping that's all it is and the hold ends up being something like a week not a month+

Mine was built 4/29 and also went in to the QC hold. Also my axle bolts showed up on the recall but then showed fixed about a week or more before this QC hold.

If the theory I posted above is correct then it would be any affected trucks built before approx 6/22 that get a freight inspection hold.

You had 2 QC holds? I was told the axel issue was being fixed at the port / rail facility. Do you know if thats where yours has been for an extended period of time?

Not really, maybe yours is an odd case and they are waiting for a tool to get to the top 2 bolts or something.

Reading the thread where people had to take their trucks in to dealers for the recall, they had it done in 1-4 hours.

Mine was built on 6/15 and is affected by the QC hold. Dealer sales manager has no more information to provide.

I reached out to my salesman and was told that the QC hold was for the axle bolt torque issue and they expect it to ship by no later than August 4th.

No, not two QC holds. My truck showed the axle bolt recall as affecting my VIN. A few days later it showed as the recall being cleared off my VIN (meaning it was fixed). That was over a week ago, but now mine just went in to QC hold Monday.

Edit: perhaps mine is something totally different, or it is the axle bolts. Just thought the recall would still be connected to my VIN if that was the case.

It wouldn't be fixed mid-transit so that's a long time to sit at the rail facility.. There could certainly be more to it I'm just trying to stay positive that most holds are for an easy to fix issue.

Oddly enough when looking at the recall now, my VIN just shows an error. So wondering if Toyota is in process of issuing a new recall?

Mine build 6/6, departed on rail 6/15 never got the axle recall as far as I know by checking the recall page a few times. So if its on hold at the railyard I assume it would be for something else?
CSX says the rail car was unloaded on 7/10.

Edit: new recall just popped up! Software issue regarding parking cameras.

Ya I have no idea what’s going on or taking so long. A few in the Pacific Northwest have had incredibly long waits for these trucks. Not sure what the problem is.

I just saw this on my 1794 hybrid with build date 6/14 that just went into QC at rail yesterday. Hopefully should be a quick turn around if this is all.

I would think this is something that would be done at the dealer but who knows.

I think you may be correct. I was just told by a dealer source that there is a new issue they are finding.

Just ran my vin through recall check, and I have an answer for you guys. It looks like the recall for the camera software updates was expanded to include More 2022 tundras. At least it should be a simple fix ?!

Looks like the good news is is that there is a remedy available. And yeah I would assume that this would be a fairly easy fix if there’s a remedy available and it’s just a software patch.

She finally showed up today!! Built 5/23 had a 30 day QC hold in June. Left on the dealership lot overnight without notice. Heading to pick it up now.

Mine was built 6/13 at rail yard 7/9. Hopefully its just the two recalls mentioned earlier that are holding most of us up and there will be quick fixes soon.

I just looked more in depth and the safety recall for the rear view image came before the axle bolts. So unfortunately I don't think this is the recall associated with the QC hold. Someone correct me if im wrong cuz I would really want to be wrong in this situation. I want my truck yesterday :annoyed:
