Track your Tundra when in "F" status on the train

This is what you get if you run VIN thru NHSTA.Gov if your effected by the recall and according to my sales guy its most likely the reason for increased in QC holds at port

 

I used the Toyota.com/recalls to check my VIN and it came back as affected by this recall. My truck was due in Portland on the 26th, but the train car has been sitting in Wenatchee, WA since Wednesday after only taking about 5 days to get there from Texas. I can only assume this recall is backing things up at the ports while they go through the trucks that have already arrived. I may be in for a wait. It also explains why my salesperson texted me out of the blue yesterday saying they were now expecting my truck after the 4th of July holiday(previously he had told me the 27-29th). He made no mention of the recall. He does know that I have canceled 2 camping vacations so far while waiting for new truck, and have another scheduled to start the 2nd( I get 4wks vacation but have to make the requests 90 days in advance). He told me to just go and enjoy my trip. Which I would love to do, but we tentatively agreed on my trade in 3 months back(we initially made a deal on a Toyota rep demo that was suppose to be ready in a month but 2 months in they let me know that the rep had no time frame for their next vehicle and offered me this one instead saying it would arrive in a month), and I don't want to put more wear and tear on it before trading in(my planned upcoming trip will put over 1K miles on my current truck).

 

It would appear not all Tundra's are affected by this recall. ETA for delivery for my truck is today through the 28th. I checked my VIN on both the Toyota site and NHTSA and it came back clean.

Have a double cab? What’s the C for?

 

It’s the way they code the Body… can’t remember reheat A & B are, but C is Double Cab, D is CrewMax… it’s caused quite the confusion as of late when looking for parts as well

Has anyone noticed a pattern of earlier VIN trucks that haven't been delivered yet being held for the recalls?

 

Far as I can tell....mine is on a train and does not have the recall.

 

from one of the 4 or so threads about the recall, its 46k+ trucks, made from last year up until mid june

 

well, guess ill have to ask @cdq85 to check mine once more, just checked the V-spec page and it is no longer working, maybe went into production early

Thanks for the intel. Dealer hasn’t provided much info. Having to coordinate and travel down from AK, so any tip is appreciated. At this point I’m going to assume at least 30 more days.

Last time @cdq85 checked it there was no hold so maybe mine didn't need that recall. Should be delivered this week sometime but the stress of the trip is adding up. Hopefully there were others that got their trucks over the weekend. If any of you guys are over toward Coeur d'Alene let me know, but I'm sure the wife and I will spot a new Tundra pretty quick. Not many in this area yet.
