We are working on updating all install instructions as we speak.

I do apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused.

I am curious when I get them switched around if it is the reason that the one side is so far cranked down.

    @ToyTec Lifts

Alright, so the saga continues. And I think I've come to the conclusion that from Toytec one of the coilovers was installed backwards on the top hat. But here's where I'd like to get some clarity on things and would rather put it out in the public so no one runs into hiccups going forward.

Took the truck back to the shop to have him shave a little more off the lower control arm as well as shave a bolt off the back body bolts that was rubbing against the shackle and squeeking. Reversing the coilover was also something we were going to do. Now, keep in mind I trust this shop owner, he owned up to fucking up by having a new tech in and doing the initial install. But i've had numerous recommendations for him as well as the dude has solid 40+ 5 star reviews on yelp.

So, i told him we needed to reverse it and he swore that it could only be installed one way (now we are referencing the top hat). He called toytec and spoke to two different techs who confirmed One flat side of the top hat will be facing forward on one side, and the flat side will be facing backwards on the other side. Well, this would lead to having the nitrogen port facing inward on one side since they are set up the same, unless mine came with one reversed. This would also lead to believing there is a proper left and right side. If you look at the picture toytec shows on the first page, the top hats are facing the same direction with the nitrogen port not visible. But if you were to install, one would be exposed and one not visible.

Now, the shock itself should be ambidextrous, so it truly shouldn't matter which way the shock goes in onto the top hat. Unless i'm missing something. For me, i don't care if the nipple is exposed or not as I'll never service these. But the toytec techs didn't seem to think it would matter.

What i'd like is for someone to tell me if i'm completely off base and how this is going to affect fitment and performance....

The top mounts can only go on 1 way, the 4 bolts are not chimerical, the shock will operate the same way as long as it is bolted in correctly and the lower mis-alignment heims are in correctly.
If you want to service/ charge the shocks on the truck you would need to droop out suspension and hook up accordingly, but honestly everything is tight and good, then there would be no reason to worry about it.

    Thanks

Agree. The drivers side top mount is mounted to the truck correctly. The shock is just rotated 180.

Even though its just a cosmetic issue, what would be the resolve to fix @HBdirtbag 's issue?
-remove coilover, remove top hat, rotate coilover, and reinstall top hat?
Also these are serviceable at home? How do we service them when needed?

That would be the correct way to fix it, yes.

We do not recommend "servicing" them on your own to insure nothing gets messed up, or over pressurized. If they need to b e serviced just let me know and I can help assist you in getting them done properly and in a timely manner.

    Thanks

    Got ya!
So we would just send out like most other coil overs to get rebuilt or serviced. Radflo being in Cali, can locals bring vehicle to them to service them while mounted still?

That is correct, I would assume that you can call them ahead of time to insure that it would be okay that you stop by.

    Thanks!

FYI - use the tundras.com discount with your order at the time of the order because if you order first and then try to have Toytec apply the code after the fact...even a day or so after the order just they ignore you....no matter the only reason you found them is here and the timeframe is close....I tried and tried and nothing but crickets and this after they made the 15% restock fee on a return.....don’t get me wrong, I’m happy with the product I kept so far but F minus on the customer service. Includes PM with @ToyTec Lifts

    That sucks @4Runner
I have had only pleasant experiences with toytec so that really seems odd. They have always been pretty responsive either through here and/or phone calls. I thought they were very responsive as a company compared to others. Did you try calling them? Sometimes calling fixes a lot of things.

One of the reasons I ordered from them vs the TRD is from here so it’s not a feeling..just think think discount is warranted in my case even after the order. No a big deal for me and certainly not for them...just a bad taste in my mouth. Oh well.

I don’t think they can modify the order to apply a discount once it’s been placed. Granted it’s 5%, but I’m sure if you call next time and speak with David he’ll get you squared away in the future.

Yawn...it’s a credit back to my card. 101 these days. Simple. Yes, I get that it is immaterial but just a point for ,e and these days with my company being purchased every $$$$ counts. Moving on.

I would have called asking about a forum discount. But hey, it’s 2018 and nobody picks up a phone to call anyone, right? :notsure:

Just a fact that I haven’t received a credit, which is my expectation, or a reply as to why I would not receive a credit on my order..nothing about feelings or past experiences here...this is just plain and simple. This isn’t about the reliability of a product, just a story about my experience and business transaction. Again, I’m happy with what is installed product and delivery was fast...just thought they would honor discount.
