Toytec 3" leveling kit, do I need new control arms?

    I purchased a toytec 3" leveling kit and when I talked to a mechanic from Toyota he said I need to get new control arms for alignment. Does anyone know if this is true? He said that you can never get a good alignment with a 3" leveling kit. If I should get some new control arms does anyone know good ones to get? I was told by the mechanic that SPC control arms for a modified suspension is not made for spacers. Does anyone know?

    You don't need them, but it will help with your alignment. I have the SPC ones. Which Toytec lift are you running?

    I am running the tu3, 3" spacers up front with 2" rear blocks.

    The mechanic told me to get the icon control arms because they have the best adjustments. I rather have a ball joint than a uniball, don't know how well the uniball will hold up compared to the ball joint.

    If you're spending that coin you should have considered spending it on a true suspension lift :D

    If I had to do it again, I would go with Total Chaos. (@csuviper has)
    SPC is pretty solid with alignments, but they always update their product.

    Ya I was only looking into doing a leveling kit. Didn't know I needed to get new control arms, never saw that info on any of the leveling kits. Are uniball control arms any good?

    Uniball are good. It is what i got. Little more maintenance keeping them in top shape since they are exposed to the elements.

    I live in the northeast and right near the ocean so the uniball might not be a good choice with all the road salt during the winter. I think the SPC with a normal ball joint might be my best choice. But thanks for the info

    Any 3" inch lift beyond spacers....new UCAs. For sure to get best alignment/geometry. Especially if you go off pavement. Believe me.. I need new UCAs and skids.

    I'm going with the SPCs. Budget wise..a good deal, especially if you get them from ToyTec.

    ICON just released their "Delta Joint" at SEMA. I believe they are going to be replacements for the uniball for the people that live in areas with a lot of moisture/road salts. It is an extreme high angle ball joint. I don't have any more info as far as the product or release date.
