I bought one of James $199. sub box. It is amazing how much that has improved the factory JBL system. I just wish I had more power.

I went through the full upgrade with James including the DSR1, amp speakers and subs...it was a major improvement. I included sound deadening in the doors and floors. I was happy for a time but recently put in a Kenwood HU and was blown away....has me questioning my original decision to not put a new HU in first with perhaps a few other componets. Oh well.

The dual sub option is $1399. With shipping puts it at almost at $1500. It doesn’t show the option until you add it to your cart, then it will give the option of adding the second sub.

I’m still on the fence about the stereo in my 2021 TRD Pro. At first I didn’t really like it. I felt my stereo in my 2018 SR5 was way better. After a few weeks of driving my Pro and listening to a wide range of music (pop, dance, classic rock, metal, and hip hop) I’m starting to like it more. On some hip-hop/rap songs it actually thumps pretty good and I can crank it. We’ll see if it stands the test of time. I know my SR5 stereo sounded better as time went on. I’m leaving it alone for now.

I’m thinking about picking this up. No regrets so far?

@FISHN43 Have you found that the OEM Audio Plus kit increase overall sound output volume or just sound quality/bass? I'm not looking to blow up the block, but I'd like to have a sound output volume on par with the Bose systems in other cars I've owned that rocked pretty good.

I would say that the volume has definitely increased. I can’t remember who, but when referring to overall volume, someone on here who reviewed the system said something like “40 is now what 60 was before the upgrade”. I would agree with this. Keep in mind that with this system you aren’t adding any amperage to the head unit, so the increased volume comes from the new tweeters and the “acoustic filter” (which is basically a crossover) together with the subs that clean up the sound and send the different frequencies of what your listening to to the proper speakers. Sorry for the long-windedness. Hope this makes sense.
