It's triple-locked!

 

Some of you may remember this 1989 FJ60 that I first laid eyes on (and sat in) about two years ago; I never thought to pop the hood, and I initially saw on Selden's website that this had a 5.7L V8. The window sticker confirmed it, and I asked an employee if this LC had a 350 Chevy. Literally nothing else made sense, as the Land Cruiser didn't have a V8 until 1998 if I remember correctly. The employee confirmed that this LC has a 350 under the hood, and it was apparently installed in Japan before the truck came here...

And while these are low miles for a 2012, it's not exactly a new vehicle, and there's no warranty...

 

I was at the scrapyard today when this 1997 FZJ80 pulled into the parking lot; I talked to the owner and he's the original owner. It is NOT triple-locked, but it only has 168K miles, and he took measures to prevent rust from the day he drove it off the lot. This has been a Pennsylvania truck its whole life, and it is probably one of the cleanest I've ever seen!

Ah man Cement 2014 (white roof not a trail teams 2013), the best color combo next to Voodoo blue I think. I think there’s only 1000ish of this color ever made.
