    From what I remember, they had very little turbo lag. I will say we never seen a MR2 Turbo in the shop for repairs.

    How about the A/C? Since the condenser and some parts are up front and the compressor is in the back, does that make it less efficient than a vehicle with a traditional engine layout?

    I met a guy who was the original owner of a 1993 MR2 with less than 30K miles, and not only was the A/C still R-12, but he said it had never been serviced. My truck's A/C evaporator started leaking in like 2017 and it took over a year (and three recharges) to figure out what the problem was. My parents' 1990 Camry LE V6 never had to have the A/C serviced in the 8 years and 80K miles they had it, and neither did my dad's 1983 Celica GT; R-12 just seems to be better in every way!
