No recall on my 38 gallon tank. Guess that mysterious 5 extra gallons that we never see keeps the pump submerged. Who knew???

There has been an updated service bulletin for Tundra fuel pump replacement that goes back prior to 2014 for extended crank time.
Its covered 8 years 80k miles.
That would be unrelated to this recall. But worth looking into if some of you are experiencing that condition.

Excellent question. My 2018 has a 38 gal tank and is not currently on the recall list/yet...

I just checked with our service department today for my 2019 camry and 2018 sequioa and as of now nothing pops up.

Service guy said it's to soon and toyota is still putting the list of affected vehicles together. He advised we wait until we get the notice in the mail.

That would explain why every now and then I go to start my camry and it just bugs down and dies.... starts up second time no problem. . Lol

Hopefully mine won’t be on the list either. But 700,000 vehicles is a lot. The tundra sells about 115K units a year if I am remembering right and the 4 Runner is about the same. They don’t sell many sequoias or landcruisers/lx570s at all. By those numbers, I wouldn’t be surprised if my trucks show up on the list at some point.

Same thing happened when I entered my VIN. I then searched by license plate and state, it returned the results "there are no open recalls on your vehicle". Weird that it's seemingly not returning results when searching the VIN in some cases. Maybe the recall website is having trouble and the IT department needs to issue a recall.

Also, I love how it says the "items are ready for repair" but below in the Remedy they obviously state they don't have a fix yet lol.

18 flex Fuel here. I just hit 26k miles. I checked the recall site and I'm not showing up on it. I have noticed over the past few months though when starting the truck up for the first time after it sits, it's a strange hard start. Almost as if it's struggling to start. Once it does it immediately goes away though and doesn't do it again until it sits for a bit. Runs and drives fine, just starts sort of low in the RPM range if you want to call it.

I've been experiencing something similar at least. I have confirmed this with a full tank of gas, but sometimes when it starts, it will drop to near 500 RPM for a little bit. Just passed 4k miles on my 2019 which is on the recall list.

Yep that's how mine acts. Most cars sort of jump to 1k RPM or so when starting and settle down to idle. Mine doesn't. It just asks as if it's starved and starts in a real low RPM range. I figured mine would be on the list and was hoping that's all it is. Doesn't matter if it's a full tank, half tank, or almost empty tank. Seems to do it just about every time.

Looks like our 2019 Highlander falls under this recall... I wonder if I take it back to the dealer that botched my cam tower repair or try to go somewhere else?? Obviously this isn't anywhere near as complicated.
