It's all good. The status was all that changed. I'm still going to resubmit though.

Site still does not show what the actual remedy is. I ran across a more descriptive narrative of the recall. It looks like the harness is the engine bay main harness. Sounds time consuming. I'm hoping they start paying out reimbursements. Those harnesses are a couple grand . :notsure:

The Toyota site has been total crap since they "upgraded" it. Has anyone been able to see their claim? They disappeared when the site started having issues. I resubmitted it a few weeks ago, and the next day I received a voicemail from them stating that the remedy is almost released and to resubmit the claim after. I tried to do it twice today and the site is still having issues. Does anyone know if the original claims are in the system but just not showing on the site?

When did you submit it? Did you replace your lights before the recall came out?

I called my Dealership yesterday. They said the high beams being left on at low idle for long periods of time will heat up and damage components. When I bring my truck in they will add a relay to the wiring and replace any other parts that have been damaged by this issue. That being said. I'm assuming if you have halogens and they heat up so bad it damages the lights you might want to ask them if they could work with you on cutting a deal for LEDs. Maybe offer to pay them the difference? Just an idea.

Just ask the shop to give you a receipt with a different date.

They will not reimburse for purchases made after Sept 2021 when the recall came out. The purchase would have to be before that, so you are good.

They will not reimburse purchases after the recall release. He bought his before the recall so he can submit a claim.

I submitted originally when this thread started. I haven’t heard anything back. And now with the crap that you say is going on, I guess I will resubmit today or tomorrow. I will let you know what happens.

I called yesterday. They told me that claims must be resubmitted after the remedy release. I don't know why they make it so difficult because she said that she can see all of my documents. I triedto resubmit...the site isn't working.

I've had my LED bulbs in for 2 years now....no fires.

I have yet to bring it in for recall notice. I'm not sure what they are going to do or say.

Ok, so is a remedy already available? Reason I ask is because the last letter I received was confusing. It said something like like bring it to a dealer and once the remedy is available they will replace the wiring harness or something to that effect. In other words, the letter made it seem like they know what wrong, they have the remedy but it isn’t available yet. I am going to try now to submit.

Yes the remedy is available. The primary cause is the harness. They inspect it and replace it if necessary. Let me know if yours goes through. Mine didn't when I tried this morning.

Just dropped my truck off this morning for regular service. I waited to hear them say, and they confirmed the recall, but they don't have the parts to be able to perform the repair. I have a set of new LED headlights and asked them to swap them in so I don't have to bother, and they said no problem. Hopefully, that helps with any heat issues until it's actually available.

The recall is only for the halogen headlight models, but swapping to led headlights will eliminate the issue. That's why many of us have pending claims...because we "fixed" the issue before the recall initially came out. There is a report that I posted a few weeks ago that identifies the harness manufactured in Taiwan as being the cause. They inspect the harness and headlight and replace what is damaged. They do not install leds as a fix, and I'm curious to know what they do if no damage is found. I would guess that they replace the harness anyway since it appears to be the cause.

I would hope they replace the harness in my case, LED Bulbs in a Halogen system. That way, if I ever switch back to Halogen bulbs, I wouldn't overheat.

@Tundra234 got a response back. I never got one for the first claim I made.

I got a response as well shortly after I submitted it. I just hope nothing gets messed up because I had to use a different email address. I wouldn't think so since they said that it had to be resubmitted once the remedy was released. Does yours show on the site now?
