    Depends on the dealerships,
they have a spec they need to meet,
not every dealership uses the same oil - as long as it meets specs, no one cares.
Dealerships buy in bulk so save money, cheapest offer comes in the shop.

    NVM,
    I believe I misread this...

    In any case,
my local dealership uses "Toyota" synthetic that comes in a Valvoline labeled bottle and has "Toyota" written on it.

    On that note,
"Toyotas" oil will change with time as well,
cheapest bidder to meet specs wins the deal.

Thanks, the dealer ship told me it is a toyota oil. I change it religiously so I should be fine anyway.

Speaking of oil.......I heard its a pain to change the filter on the Tundras. Is that true? I have a 2015, thats just about out of the factory free oil changes. And I would like to do them myself after that.

It's not too bad. Depending on what skid plate you have installed you'll have to take it off. I have the TRD Pro skid plate that has an access hole. The previous owner or shop that worked on my truck jammed the drain plug in the filter cap, causing me to replace the cap and plug so I could actually use the filter drain.
