Toyota of Cool Springs is shutting down their online parts store....again

Oh FFS.

 

@Roman It spoke volumes when I made numerous trips to Franklin TN from Decatur Alabama to get parts from Cool Springs Toyota because of you. I spoke to you a few times and told you how much I appreciated your contributions to this forum. You saved me a lot of money and a lot of grief. If you can get us a contact for the higher powers that be without risking your employment we will go to bat for you and let them know how valuable your service was. If anything to maybe get you some leverage for something better. Take care Roman.

 

The links that @Roman posted now go to an OEMgenuineparts.com website. Who is this???

 

So what happens if there's a problem with an order? It must have been one of the last orders they sent out, but they sent me the wrong item. Is Roman still around?

Obviously not your decision, but do you know what would be involved to get in on the parts.toyota.com list of dealers instead of a 3rd party like Revolution?

 

@Roman I have reached out to you several times about my order placed on May 27th. Driver side pillar handle. Last I heard was in late June and delivery was estimated for 7/6/22. Please update me by returning my emails or via the conversation I started with you on this forum. I don't feel like anything fishy is going on, but I am bummed that my $190 was charged on 5/27 and I can't even get an update on the order status. Thanks.

 

I bought something via his link oemgenuineparts.com on 7/8. No issues. Came from Midlands Toyota.

Sorry to hear. I, unfortunately, have only been in the Tundra world for a couple months now and you have single handedly been a game changer in these forums with your knowledge and expertise. My front grill will be delivered tomorrow that you assisted me with. Hate to see it happen, but hopefully it's just a stepping stone to something greater for you. I would like to thank you for all you have done for me as well as this entire forum. You changed the game for sure when it comes to Toyota parts online and we all appreciated it. If you recall I ended up sending your management a letter because I was so impressed with what you were doing.

I realize you aren’t out of a job but I wish we could do more for you to get you back to crushing it.

 

Once again, closing down online sucks big time but fortunately only a couple hour drive to Franklin.

Lots of dealerships stopped using them (revolution parts) due to past security breaches and/or couldn’t get current PCI compliance info from them to satisfy cyber security insurance providers.

Google your part number.
See which dealers come up in the first few listed.
Go to the site, add to the cart, figure out your shipping, and see who is cheapest..

I've had good luck with Sparks as well as others.
Kinda comes down to where you are and where they are to figure shipping charges.

They also run free shipping specials sometimes..

 

I've found dealers running similar sales deals that were closer to me which ended up saving me some $$$ on shipping. In my experience, the shipping variances can make or break the deal when it comes to dealer part orders.

I've gone to local dealers in the past asking to match @Roman TOCS prices and they laughed at me..

 

Oh I didn't ask them to match but merely searched online after I googled the part #s. I found similar pricing then saved on the shipping. I don't even bother with the local stealerships.

 

I should probably stop posting and go to bed...

 

Some toyota dealers also do local "pick up" instead of shipping. I forgot the link for it, but there's a Toyota website somewheres that you can plug in your zip code, and it will tell you which dealer participates in that program closest to you.

I'm rural as fuck. My closest one is 2.5 hours away, 1 way. 5 hour round trip so I still pay for shipping.


Anyways, I'm sure you could Google the website because I can't remember right now. I believe toyota called it some kind of program. Local pick up program or something? Anyways, not every dealer does this supposedly

I did it for lug studs through a dealer that didn't "participate" in the alleged program, and it worked for me.
