I just watched this video and either he got a hold of counterfeit Toyota motor oil or they have changed their formula. They used to historically have 500+ppm of moly! Looks like this is gone! Anyone have any info on this.
Attached are add pack screenshots from the video of pack reading from fresh oil he sent in to be tested.

So much more goes into formulating motor oil than what is shown on an inexpensive oil analysis. Don’t worry about that video if the Toyota oil is your preferred oil.

How much did he end up paying? I might want to run some tests myself

Prices vary, but average around $30.

I agree his test is a poor way to test oil. No engine gets up to 400 degrees. I’m just concerned because I used Toyota oil for its high moly content. However this can result in pre-ignition in newer high compression turbo engines. Ford had this issue early on in the eco booste engines and changed the oil formula specs. I’m just wondering if Toyota did the same for the new engines they are now building. If so I won’t be spending the premium for Toyota oil anymore.

I sent in some Toyota 0W-20 oil to blackstone this week for testing. I’ll report back with the results. However they say they are back logged months!

I got my results back. As suspected the add pack has changed. I’ll probably no longer spend the money on this oil. Probably switch to Valvoline extended protection as others have suggested.

Nice! That’s what I’ve been reading. I’ll do the same next change.

I saw the same thing you saw OP and was also curious. I realize Mobil 1 has made Toyota's oil for a long time with Toyota's own additives but this seems to be just a much closer reflection of standard Mobil 1.

Agreed seems to be the case. And not worth the premium price they are charging.

I understood- just making the point you can get 5qts of the M1 for what Toyota charged for 2.
