That was a rumor a while back - but I highly doubt that will ever happen. Just like Toyota won't enter the heavy duty market.

I don't think Toyota wants to play our emissions game to run diesel. Look at the mess VW got into.

If you do not like the truck it will sell quickly for a very high resale value. Then get something that you enjoy more.

I have a 2002 tundra and a 2007 tundra, all my other vehicles are Lexus or Toyota, so yes I drink the Toyota koolaid.

Yes Toyota dropped the ball on the tundra. 13 years without any meaningful updates to engine, suspension, brakes etc ( but at least it got some updates unlike the Sequoia). Mike Sweers is one of the worst lead engineers on any car line, he screwed up the Tacoma redesign and hasn't done anything for the tundra... "special editions nightshade and offroad versions ( that are no better then a existing TRD PRO"..really ?) Where is my 8 speed auto from the Land Cruiser? Where is my hydraulic/air suspension to lower the truck and improve fuel economy on the highway and raise it for offroading. Where is my locking rear differential? Etc etc etc.
If you only keep a truck for two years and put 200k miles on them in that time, then get what you like.
The two things a tundra has going for it is reliability and resale. You admit that your trucks are worthless after you are done with them so resale is a mute point. Reliability comes into play more as a truck ages, you are keeping the truck for only two years... again a mute point.
Get an F150... it is the best selling vehicle in America for a reason... or get a Ram... since you are on the road so much, coil spring rear suspension will ride superior to rear springs.

The irony my here is you spent $~40k on a truck, and are complaining about it. It isn’t an Escalade or Lexus.

What is “dumbSs”? Also, you should know; if you add a title in front of a name, it should be capitalized.

Frankly when I read this post yesterday, I didn't even looked at the gender of the op. It's irrelevant.

But comparing a minivan to a truck not fair to the the truck an many ways. But, in many ways it's not fair to the van to be compared with the truck.

I have owned driven many Toyotas in my lifetime. I own other brand vehicles as well. All of them serve their purpose. I have a minivan 06 odyssey with 195k it's paid for and I use it if I need to stuff more people in. I have a large M.B. diesel suv, it's servers its purpose. I have a convertible. It serves its purpose, I have a couple antique Toyota Corolla.

If you said "I had a 2006 Tundra DC and Toyota dropped the ball not installing the roll down rear window on later DC." "2006 Tundra rides better and have a better payload than the 2nd and 3rd gen " minivan vs truck is not justified IMO.

    Yikes.

Ok, so I think your circumstances are a little (sarcasm) different then most Tundra owners here, let alone people in general that drive. Sitting in a vehicle that much is terrible. no matter what truck you buy. Im sorry to say this, but they did not have people like you in mind when they designed this thing. Neither did ford, neither did GM. I mean sure they thought about it, but they didnt make design changes for people like you. if you drove every single monday-friday based on the miles you stated you would be spending 6.5 hours ish in the car every single day. Probably more.... your situation is going to make you a harsh critic no matter what you drive.

That being said, I wish a few members here treated you with a little more respect. Sorry that this forum disappointed you.

I understand I should have presented myself better yesterday. I have apologized for that. I didn’t expect to have so many nasty people in this group. T-Rex is. “Staff” member? Seriously? LOL. That’s shameful. I brought the sienna into play because I was highly impressed with the built and quality of my sienna when I bought it. The sienna put Toyota top on the list for me. So I gave the tundra a whirl. Yes I test drove it. test driving it and driving it up to a thousand miles a day after purchasing it is bit different. Plant your ass in that seat for miles and hours on end and you quickly learn the good and bad of a vehicle. I never meant to unleash pandora box here. I just wanted others insight. I’m a truck driver. Trust me I can take the smart ass comments. I can also dish it out, which I haven’t, but some of the folks are just plum ignorant in here. It’s all good. I appreciate nice ones of you that gave me a second chance after my poor introduction. There’s other Toyota forums I can check into. But thanks for educating me on several things about the tundra that I didn’t know.

Most people on here are very nice. This is different than your typical truck forum - just look at the grilling, camping, hiking, photography, etc..... threads on here. Much more than just truck discussions. Hang out a little and learn to know the people. A few nasty comments should not be representative of the majority on here.

If I put 100,000 miles plus a year on a vehicle, (a vehicle that was 10 + years in to the design cycle) I’d read up on it. Every gripe you have has been beaten to death except the front seats, and I’ve don’t remember seeing any complaints about them. I think they’re great personally. The Tundra isn’t perfect. Far from it. That said, if you’re for real, post up some pics of your dash with the mileage you claim to have run up in the past year. If you really want to move on because you’re unhappy, see what the market would bring for a 2018 with 100K plus miles on the clock. Then see what the market would bring for a comparable truck from any other maker with the same mileage. If you appreciate nothing else about the Tundra, my guess is you’ll appreciate the resale value.

The only vehicle that I have ever driven that is still comfortable after driving a full day is a 200 Series Land Cruiser. If I did what you do for a living, I would buy a gently used one with low mileage (would've cost the same as your 1794). I just sold a 2008 land Cruiser with almost 200k miles on it and it was just as nice as a new one. You could buy a 2016-2018 with under 25k miles on it for $50k-60K and easily put 500k miles on it without issue and only routine maintenance.

I traded my 2016 Tundra because it didn't have the options and color I wanted for a 2020 that was exactly what I wanted. Might as well drive the vehicle you really want.

No. Glad you’re not a troll. The last sentence in my post says it all. That truck is still probably worth 70% of what you paid for it. Why be miserable all day, every day? Find something you love. The new Siennas look great and you seemed to like your old one. Why not go back?
