Toyota being Sued for Missing Trans Cooler

Well it wouldn’t have cost $1000 for Toyota to put one in our trucks. Probably closer to $100. So maybe a $22 million money grab by Toyota lol.

 

The reliability matter is clearly highly debatable.

 

I checked my '21 window sticker this morning, it does not have it on there.

 

I emailed them and let them know about the Seqouia as well, put it in writing that I wanted a “finders fee”.

Is there a place online you can see a copy of the window sticker? Not sure I still have mine. I need to look in my owner manual.

It's a bit generic but will show some of what is on your sticker.
In my case, it shows an SR5 upgrade but doesn't say what it consists of.

They do it all the time in hitch-equipped vehicles. And not only Toyota.

Not true, they’re going to force toyota to place the trans cooler on all 2019 & 2020 models. The reasoning is to uphold the maroney sticker credibility for all vehicles.
If toyota is allowed to discredit the maroney sticker, then so will other manufactures.

 

Doesn't hurt to fill out the information, which I did. I don't care if I ever get a dime, but if it makes toyota (and other manufacturers) think about these things and be held accountable, that's the hope at least. The way I see it, there is ZERO harm in filling it out.

I did just pull my window sticker (i always keep them) and this is what it says. I think anyone is going to have a hard time disputing this and Toyota will argue that there IS in fact a cooler......even if "just" a puck:

we gave the truck almost no payload how on earth do these guys think they are hauling enough to need a seperate cooler.


I think its gonna he a very tough thing to overcome the trans fluid flowing into the radiator. Even if it doesnt work as well, it is a cooler.

in all reality, we know Toyota is full of shit. They added the cooler back to the 22+

 

I already have a cooler on mine but no way in hell will I let the dealer touch it because they are not doing the headlight recall on it.

I'm not a lawyer, but if stay at a Holiday Inn tonite and take a quickie online lawyer course with a certificate as proof.....they could add me to their highly experienced law group staff handling this class action nonsense...smh

 

They should include the cam tower leaks for a towfer. Maybe the squirrel - mouse wire insulation for a triple.

I will say I did sign up for the “Red Bull didn’t give me wings” lawsuit many years ago, and I did get a free 4-pack of Red Bull out of it. Maybe it sounds ridiculous, maybe the firm seems under-qualified, but what if it comes of something interesting? Do lawyers usually run away with the winnings? Yes. Let them have their David v Goliath attempt, and maybe we see something other than the gen3 guys paying for it in a MY25+ mark-up.

It' not much, but the fact it's come to this with toyota is sad.

Standard attorney fees these days....
As far as expenses go, the attorneys my wife works for bill at $1300 an hour..
They bill for every phone call, email, sheet of paper printed, hotel, food, mileage, rental cars, air fare, etc..
Doesn't leave much for the client.

 

Yes but at the end of it, toyota will hopefully be installing a trans cooler and saving us $1500-$2000 vs having it done ourselves.
