I stopped putting all my faith into warranties when Ford denied my claim for a leaking coolant overflow reservoir. It was "designed to be a consumable product" or some crap like that.

Had the back window in my '13 F150 warranty replaced 3 times. The first time they tried to tell me, and I quote,

"Well, the defroster itself is under warranty...but it's permanently attached to the back window, which is *NOT* under warranty. Sorry."

Actual issue: The idiot put in the part # for the UNHEATED back glass. Once I found the correct part # for him and gave it to him...."Oh, look at that, it is indeed under warranty."

Somehow I doubt the 22 Tundra is the first truck anyone's ever ripped a bumper off of while driving off road.

I think the right way to word that would have been "I drive over trees and into them". Lol.

Can anyone confirm how these trucks hold up if you drive them off a 50ft cliff? Any wind noise on the way down?

I wanted a faster vehicle so I also bought a Chevy SS... because 4 door sedans with big V8’s are hilarious.
I know a lot of new Platinum owners have had exterior trim issues with door badging coming off.

That's got to be a hilux. Apparently, we have used daisy cutters on these things, to no avail.

You may want to do a little research on the vehicles built in the Tahara factory in Japan, (4 runner/Lexus/Land Cruisers). When comparing them to other toyotas with the same parts etc, there is a noticeable difference. The issues with the 5.7 on in the 2.5 Tundra did not happen on the same engine in the land cruisers, the paint and metal thickness is a bit different, the fasteners in the engine bay are a bit different etc. The vehicles built in that factory are built better than those coming from some of the others.

Not Toyota, but its also interesting to note that the highest ranked model Subaru for reliability/quality are the Crosstrek, Forrester, BRZ which also happen to be the Subaru models that are built in Japan...

Yep if sourced from different facilities (manufacturer of part) the quality can be different between the two.

You're right, re-watching the video, he says mostly based in NA or NA focused vs global.

The Tacoma, Tundra, Sequoia are the NA only designs

The Hilux Surf/4 Runner are Japan/ NA
    Land Cruiser Prado (Europe/ Australia
Central America, South America, New Zealand the have the Fortuner and 4 Runner

All on same platform as 4 runner.

I have a 2008 tacoma and it's solid. I've been on a few Dodge's that the interior just felt like cheap plastic. A friend has a 2018 fancy trim RAM and its nice. I've driven a couple of newer silverados and they are ok.

I hope Toyota is not getting cheap on us. I still am planning on a MY 24 tundra.

Congrats on the new rig, Rich! No need to apologize when getting the right truck for you. Anyone who says otherwise is just uncivilized.

I really wish NA Toyota had the dials for the heat control. Up and down toggle switch seems like a step in the wrong direction. Good luck on the new truck!

Congrats. I take it the Silverado interior seems less cheap and plasticky?

    Congrats on the new truck.
If Toyota doesn't get it together on the Tundra in the next 5 or 6 years, I may be in a GMC..
Until then I'll keep my 2014 as long as possible..:D

Would you mind snapping a pic of the steering wheel buttons? I hated then on the last gen of chevys.

I didn't mind them. Thought the radio buttons on the back was a pretty good idea.
