One would think. The stock front sway bar is hollow, whereas the TRD is solid and pretty heavy. The rear seems to be the one everyone scratches their heads on.

Lol, 60 K TRD Pro and I spent another 1K on TRD sway bars, air intake bed mat and bedside decals. I understand the sway bars as that might be detrimental to off roading, but the other stuff???? Oh well, I'm still happy!!!

I got home with mine on Saturday afternoon and had my K&N delivered on Monday LOL. I had to drive 2 1/2 hours to pick up my truck and literally ordered the sway bar THAT day. Took both to the local dealership and had them installed after the first week!

How much did they charge you for install? Might see if they can do it before I take delivery.

The sway bar really is easy to install with basic mechanics tools as long as you have the proper sized sockets and a torque wrench.

It's been a while but I want to say it was about $125/hr. I know I overpaid, but I figured if they screwed something up it was on them and worth the warranty.

Definitely have the required tools, just worried about warranty stuff. Haven't had any experience with Toyota on that front.

Front sway is easier than the rear and one-to-one replacement.
Using OEM parts. I can't see why there would be any warranty issues.

It would take me longer to drive to the dealer than for me to install my rear swaybar.

That's also a con, the price of these items are not so expensive compared to the price of the truck that interest needs to be paid on them over 3/5/6/7 years.

Find them on a truck and negotiate them off, the dealer just might be too lazy to remove them. I got predator steps and the protective film for free doing that. I really didn't want the steps. I bullshitted the sales person that they are dangerous on an off-road truck and I'll be replacing them with sliders as soon as I get home (which I did).

True. To be honest, financing vehicles in general isn’t great, but cash purchases aren’t in everyone’s reach.

And, if someone wants 3k of accessories and can’t afford the 3k up front, then financing it is a possible (not saying good - I’d recommend waiting until you could pay cash for them) option.

That is all I was pointing out.

    Good choices in my opinion.

Likely opting for the same 2 on my Pro build.

Steps - there are just too many other options and the cost is better after market.
Console safe - better options exist.
Tonneau cover - im not a fan of the look
Charger pad - pass, looked nice but the functionality just doesn't seem to be there.

Bedliner - its really about the same cost of aftermarket - unless there's something you want in an aftermarket (in different texture or color match) - Toyota is a nice option at comparable price.

Tailgate lock to me is a must - can't they just make it standard on higher trims and charge $200 more.

So had a Lunar Rock pop up within driving distance and they were asking MSRP. It’s now sitting in my drive way. Payed under MSRP. Came with bed liner, remote tailgate lock, all weather mats and the ugliest side runners that Toyota makes. They will be replaced soon. Here she is!

Driver side grab handle Door sill protectors Falken WildPeak 295/70 R18 X-Pel clear front paint protection 20% front window tint Go Rhino RB20 side steps - Bedliner finish Lock'er Down 1/2 console safe Toyota bed cargo divider Toyota auto tail gate lock
Add ons for the Pro that should come from the factory:

    1. Door sill protectors - just ridiculous that these don't come on the truck
    2. Driver side A pillar grab handle - a head scratcher why Toyota has this on the passenger side, but not on the driver side
    3. Underseat storage for the CM - really? If Toyota doesn't think this is important, then why do they offer it on the DC?

Options that I think are helpful but not essential depending on use:

    1. Center console safe - Cavernous space, so take advantage for valuables, EDC, etc.?
    2. Side steps - rails, steps, sliders.... lots of options. This is a tall truck and side steps very helpful
    3. Tires - the factory Michelins are more than adequate. But, they are not dimensionally appropriate for the truck
    4. Toyota deck rail system - very convenient and functional way to lash down loads. I think most Pro's have this from the factory, but a worthwhile add if you don't already have it.
    5. Tailgate lock - Almost perfect! Especially if you have a toneau cover or topper. Not so much if you have an open bed. It would only be better if the tailgate unlocked with the smart key system.
    6. Front end protection - very important here to avoid sandblasting the front end paint. Central Oregon doesn't use chemical de-icer in the winter, but uses crushed lava rock instead. Helpful for traction, but hammers the front end. It was not cheap, but should last for years.

Keep in mind decent credit interest rate is 5-7%. Financing $3,000 worth of upgrades at the dealership is a hell of a lot better than a credit card between 12-24%.

Financing extras, IMO is dumb. Credit card or rolled into the payment. If you can't afford to pay cash, you really should just wait until you can actually afford the add ons.

As always, YMMV, and all that.

Am I missing something or did I just not pay attention to my invoice... My TRD Pro came with the blacked out TOYOTA emblem on the tailgate and the remote lock was part of the keyfob lock/unlock system already...

It did come with the safe and the Spray-in Bedliner, TRD PRO emblem (which peeled off in the first 3 months), which I know was an addon and were part of the "dealer installed" options.

Cars.com. Checked religiously. Also called every dealer within 250 miles to see what they had coming in.

Tailgate remote lock is an accessory that works with your stock key fob. The blacked out emblems are also an accessory.

What a trip. I just assumed they were part of the stock TRD package. I'll have to check my invoice.

Congrats on the Lunar Rock btw.. I almost considered trading my 20 Superwhite

I was able to cancel my predator steps off my LunaRock before it got built. Just getting the spray in bed liner. My GORhino RB20’s just came today. Hopefully the truck next week.

I am a fan of the predator steps. Any reason you chose the RB20's over them? Price?

Couple reasons much nicer to stand on to reach the roof with snow. But more for just like I have in the Tyger star steps on my 4runner Pro. But I wanted something different. These stick out really far so it helps with door dings. Yeah a high truck parks next to you they probably will do a door ding. But when cars parks next to you and your truck sits higher you have less chance of getting a door ding. Also I looked at enough videos I think they look the best on the tundra Pro.
