    That's why I gave up on white hats years ago. Black ones too. They are usually dark brown after one summer.

    Not a hater, but I'm on the opposite end of the hat-love spectrum. I have a Cleveland Indians hat that I might still wear a couple of times a year; but I wore it every day between 1983 and about 2000. The button is missing, the band is almost torn out, and the stitching on the bill is all gone; but I'm going to have that thing until I die. I have a few more with plenty of miles on them.

    If I'm going somewhere I need to pretend I have a sliver of any real class, I'll leave the cap at home.

    Just “retired” (at least at the station) a hat I wore for almost 2 years on and off duty. I’d change the oil in it a couple times and keep going…faded, bill fabric in tatters. Damn good wearing hat.
