Not a design engineer that comes up with crazy welds. Work for a company that doesn’t design our own product so I fix everyone else’s designs that come in the door. I’m one of those rare ones that understands manufacturing. ;)

I'm an engineer by degree, but spent 100 years in the trades before that. I tended to let the craftsmen tell me how they wanted to do something and then justify it from an engineering standpoint.
But I've been management for the last 20 years so now the engineers and the trades think I'm a bean counting pain in their ass.

Edit, 10 years in the trades. Aged me 100 though.

What is up everyone?!!. Heading over to a buddies house in a bit to BBQ and drink beer. Just stopped in to say hi, but I also just learned something. I am going to have to add some good smoke to the mix to keep me from getting the disease that shall not be named again. I think the smoke will be more enjoyable than the 1st time I had the Vids or those damn shots.

Reminds me of camping at Tundras to Sedona. One of the SoCal crew may or may not have brought a “water pipe”.

My grandma was super into Native American stuff, they raised all the kids and ran a general store in Whiteriver; anyways one year I got her for secret Santa, and I got her a super cool authentic looking peace pipe.
The glares and lip snarls I got from uncles, aunts and cousins could have killed a elephant! Maybe she was being a great grandma, but she said out loud so everyone could hear it “I love it! Thank you!!!”

Yeah, even though I only spent eight out of 41 years in the trades, I still defer to the deckplate guys as much as possible. They make the money for all of us NVA employees.
