I am thinking the same thing. Screw black Friday shopping, go get some birds with the dogs. Work off some of that Thanksgiving meal. Plus it gets the dogs good exercise, I walk five miles, they run forty.

The Wife searched and searched, but couldn't find a decent fresh Turkey this week. Finally got a nice 12LB. organic bird but its frozen, never liked or done a frozen one before, so I have to do some research on how to make this thing the best I can under the circumstances.

 

For the win...

Got the lights on the house without falling off the roof.
That's a plus..

They go all the way around the edge of the roof line.
Can be seen from the road behind the house.

I'll tidy it up and finish it tomorrow.



Just put the wife to bed after watching Yellowstone and the end of the AMAs.
The AMAs were awful, I'm so out of touch with current pop and hiphop.
As well I should be at 59...

Going to go watch the Mayor of Kingstown with the pup..

Ah, now the spam makes sense. Frozen isn't bad at all. Grew up on them and the only issue is the thaw. Once it's thawed it's not much different.

 

Thanks Adam, I've always been on the side that fresh is always better and being frozen takes flavor away from the meat. I could be wrong though, it wouldn't be the first time.

 

My palette isn't the most refined, so I may not be able to taste it, but even it it's not up to fresh primo standards it should still be tasty.

Just got back from the trip to Washington. The ol’ boy sent me home with antique tools, a tanned Buffalo skin, ammo, a box of antlers, a meerschaum pipe and some other miscellaneous stuff. And, it’s HIS damn birthday.
Still, it’s great to be home

When I was driving the red 2011, a customer asked if he could ride with me to the company fishing tournament. I asked him if he was sure, since I drive like a bat out of hell on road trips.
He rode back with someone else.

Non of my vendors or fellow sales guys would ride me with either.
We could hang.

 

I actually got pulled over twice in an hour on the ride back, so he made the right decision. I got way slower when I switched gen 2.5’s though. That 2011 f-ing flies.

We trek down to Acadiana every Thanksgiving, where Mrs. TX and I sit and watch a kitchen full of cooks you'd expect were cousins of Paul Prudhomme so it's usually really good to be me at Thanksgiving. This year my sister in law is not feeling well, so Ima jump in her kitchen and be a cajun chef Iiiiiyeeee. Albeit under her direct supervision... Between the wife's fam, my dad and sisters, and my son and his fam, we have a few Thanksgiving dinners every year. Plus I get together with some close friends and go glamping most years either before or after, and that's always a food-fest. The gluttony doesn't wane until late January.
