Growing up on Marvel comics, I’m still a bit of a comic dork. We watched Shang-Chi on Disney+ last night on the OLED and it was in the “IMAX” format so it wasn’t letterboxed. I really don’t see us needing to go back to a theater unless it’s something we can’t wait to stream.

5 pages away from page 666. Also kinda close to 20,000 posts that Tom was so excited about. Coincidence I think not. This may really be a cult.

Same. Right now we have a 46" Sony from the dinosaur days (2008 or so). When it dies, it'll get replaced by a 83" OLED. There was a time when the urge to see something like a new Avenger's movie on a big screen would have overcome the frustration and disdain I have for people's behavior in public, but gladly that time has passed. The last time I took my wife to a movie, it was R-rated, and the dad of the 8 year old girl who was actively fidget-kicking the back of my seat looked at me like I was stupid when I asked him to please get her to stop. That was probably Spring 2018.

I need new speakers and a working subwoofer before I write off theatres completely, although I've been avoiding them when they're busy for years.

Why are people in public so obnoxious?

I believe ours is a 65 inch but that’s the biggest that would fit in our entertainment center. Absolutely love it though.

I don’t understand parents and their kids behavior anymore. Mrs. Bandito forced me to go to Target this weekend and some lady and her husband had 2 kids in her cart with them. One of them was screaming their lungs out - it just didn’t stop. After about 10 minutes the other one started and the parents did nothing. I was echolocating them throughout the store, trying to keep a distance because it just sent my migraines into overtime.

My daughter threw one fit at a store when she was about 4. I just said, with my voice getting louder “You want to embarrass me?! I’ll embarrass you!” or something to that effect, real “Father of the Year” stuff. She stopped and never cried at any store when she was with me ever again.

When she was 5, we were at the Whataburger drive thru, trying to order and she was in the back of whatever year Tundra it was, in her car seat. She was throwing a fit about not wanting to eat there. I’m trying to order and she’s screaming in the back. I got pissed and took my hat off and slapped the seat next to her with it. She had this shocked look and said “Chicken nuggets.” Never had a problem after that either.

lol - 'chicken nuggets'... I always had much shorter patience for other people's kids than mine; but I have to admit mine was well behaved beyond the parenting he was getting. With him, a little prep before an event went a long way - - e.g. a simple 'we're here for groceries, and we're not getting any snacks or toys', and I won. I do try to imagine other people's circumstances - a spectrum kid or just their bad day. But for your example - mom and dad both walking around with the mayhem - yeah, one of those slackers should've stayed home and dealt with that shit while everyone else shopped in relative peace...

We have a new one nearby that has a VIP set of theaters. Unlimited drinks, popcorn, and ice cream are included. The higher price keeps the riff raff out. I do sort of miss tangling with the unruly peasants though.

My parents are coming in for a few weeks for my birthday and Thanksgiving. Hadn't seen them in 2 years so it'll be nice. Unfortunately, Mrs. Bandito insisted on helping me carry a big ass church pew off of our side porch a few weeks back so we could paint it. She said that I'd get hurt. So she got hurt. Turns out she has a few compression fractures on her L-somethings. I ended up having to get the bench back on the porch by myself and didn't get hurt, go figure. (I slid one side, lifted it onto the porch, went back to the other side, lifted it and slid -which was what I wanted to do in the first place).
Anyways, we were the opposite of the people who went on cleaning rampages during the lockdown so I've been cleaning daily since last week (taking Forza breaks, of course). I don't really mind, I've got a pair of AirPod Maxes I put on and I've been listening to remastered classic rock in spatial audio. It's like being at a concert.

For those who are like you "Callous Bastard! What about Mrs. Bandito?!" She is getting in with a Neurosurgeon to see about fixing her up.

i remember that injury. I'd suggest what I think the L-something was....but i'm sure my mind is too far in the gutter to guess it correctly. hopefully she's doing better.
when I get in a groove, especially with cleaning from things like the truck to even the house, with music i get into a zone and it's hard to get me out of it sometimes. i like seeing before and after. i think that's why i enjoy cleaning my vehicle, cutting grass, building things, etc.
enjoy the time with the fam man!
