It's probably more common for external panels in the south - all the new builds still do it this way. My house is about 16 years old, so not really sure where that falls in new vs old... I wish it were at least inside the garage so that I didn't have to worry about some random dickhead messing with my breakers...

I hear ya. Older houses for me are built in seventies or later. Eighties are mixed and nineties and newer are all inside. Mine was outside but was moved inside to the basement when they did an add on in early 2000

May be due to climate? It’s never too cold to deal with it if necessary here. We also don’t have basements, where panels tend to be located in homes up north. Some do have them inside, but there has to be a main disconnect outside, which may be why a lot of builders go that route.

I actually just checked, and we sell pretty close to an equal amount of each.

So…that’s another thing. That trailer has been there a couple of years. We’ve never actually seen a boat.

I definitely understand the resentment she may be feeling. From the couple of conversations I had with them when they moved in, I gather she was a former teacher. Probably really frustrating for someone used to using their mind so much.

Oh man, I hate to hear that.
My FIL struggled with Alzheimer’s for nearly 7 years.
It was exhausting for the family.
The old fella may have thrown in the towel himself.

There was a time I would go and just clean it up for them.
However, after a couple of crazy neighbors… no way!

For an inexpensive 3-tab shingle, 7-10 years is not uncommon in the south, esp, Tehas.

The black streaks running down roof is actually a healthy algae. As the algae accumulate, they develop a dark, hardened outer coating, this results in the black stains. The algae feed on the limestone in shingles, speeding up deterioration.
It can be pressure washed off if caught early.
But it’s too late for that one side.

if they’re not insane, maybe you could get with a few neighbors through the HOA and straighten it up periodically.

That’ll go on your “good boy” bonus.:D

I know in Alabama, owning a boat trailer does not constitute owning a boat.

Haha as a normal person that gets a big nope from me!
Again our plumbers are top notch, and that was their bright idea, same ones that make us use rubber strips and a hose clamp on pinhole leaks at a certain building, vs shutting the water down and repairing the pipe……….

Welding on a full tank? Negative
This happened in 2008 at the tank farm next to where I worked at the time. Not exactly 1000 gallons, 2,000,000. The last paragraph is bs. It may have been an old weld that failed, but the welder was adding a doubler plate adjacent to it when it failed. He was lucky to live.

In this case, it was 2M gallons. The maximum safe fill for the chemical in the tank.
