    No, not a dumb question at all. I am 99% sure that they are. I went from one 5 channel amp to another, so it's been set up this way for a while, I just had to make sure I put the correct wires in the correct spots for the change in amps. I had the wire diagrams from both amps and the truck.
    Plus, when I did crank the gains, the sound was even and crisp from all 4 door speakers and the sub, just not at the proper volume levels.

    I think I'm going to take this stereo bullshit as a sign. I am going to take out my sub, amp, and speakers, put back the stock shit and buy a nice new 2022 Platinum.

    It was a weird issue, I'm guessing a defect in this particular model amp. Fine for a few years, then would randomly lose channels. You would be driving and all of a sudden, only the left front speaker would work, only to correct itself and then go out again later. So, I swapped in another identical Alpine amp and it was good for about a year before it started doing the same thing.
    The oddest thing is that if I would swap out the amp with the old one, it would work great again for a few months and then start losing channels again. Swap amps and I was good to go for a few more months.

    I did this a few times and thinking that maybe the amps needed a "reboot" like a computer, so I would pull the fuse overnight, but no, it only "reset" after sitting for a couple of months while I ran the other, identical, amp. Must have been a design defect as they are discontinued now.

    Yes. I check everything and when I was swapping the amps (the old 2, multiple times), I obviously reconnected every wire. This set up is replaced the stock amp under the seat using the stock in/output Toyota wires. Today with the new Kenwood I used a new connector on the amp side made for installing aftermarket amps in place of the stock Toyota one.
