Still not cool IMO, cats are not cattle or horses and demand a visit to the vet to have it done humanely. Pretty disappointed with your caviler approach to just shooting it. I shoot animals to eat, pets deserve better.

I can understand that, but my cat was terrified when in the carrier and ultra stressed at the vet. I felt it was far more humane for him to be comfortable, loved, and calm in his last moments. I didn't mean to come off as cavalier and you are wrong if you are thinking that it wasn't incredibly difficult to do. I loved that cat, even if he was a jerk, and it was the kindest thing I could do for him. I did it because I loved him and it was less traumatic and without suffering.

I remember when you had originally talked about that. Tough thing to do - I don’t think I could have done it. Cried like a baby when my wife and I put down her 19-1/2 year old cat Josey. Feeling him take his last breath was heart breaking. I have no doubt you did it out of love and respect. Totally different than the asshole that tosses a burlap sack of kittens out the window on the I205 bridge.

Losing a pet is very difficult and having to do it yourself is even more difficult.
When growing up, my granddad didn’t know vets.
They were country folks and did everything themselves.
There were times, that putting the animal out of it misery was the best thing to do.
It’s not the most conventional way, but needed at times and can be the most difficult way.

    Yeah.
My oldest cat (Oscar) was found on the same bridge. Probably 5 weeks old, broken jaw, broken ribs, face split open about three different directions… he’d obviously been tossed out a window and didn’t make it over the guardrail.

He’s been an awesome cat…very chill but very street smart (ours are in/out and we’ve lost a LOT to coyotes unfortunately). But he had a rough start.

Yes, but not in a humane way.

If we're going the suffer route, then just put him in a burlap sack that is stitched closed and drop him in a pool.

We have had many cats but none by regular means.
They always seem to show up or be found in need.

Most mine are rescues from the shelter, the ones no one else will take. But occasionally its nice to get a fresh low mileage model.

This is Tamale - the only one we’ve ever had that wasn’t a rescue.

She can be a little bit of a bitch, but mostly she just wants to nap and get pets.

Perfectly reasonable response. As a hunter and a pet owner, the borders get pretty blurry sometimes, at least they do for me. I pull the trigger all the time, but I draw the line at the pets I live with. In the end I respect the decision you had to ultimately make.

I leave for work at 11:00 AM and get home at midnight.
I have no use for checking this thread, or the forum, at work since I drive for a living.
There are at least 6 to 10 pages on this thread to read when I get home at night almost daily..

BTW to all involved, indoor cats are worthless.
Unless you live in the country and need them to to kill rats.
An indoor cat is a waste of feline existence, and an indoor litter box is putrid....

    That's fine.
I don't expect anyone to agree with me.
Pretty much the way I live my life.
You can't please everyone, so you've got to please yourself..

    Love you too Bro..
You and I will always be good no matter what @TILLY ..
There is nothing you could say or do to me that would piss me off.....:D

I had a 'live in' GF with 3 cats years ago.
    'Live in' being my mistake...:eek2:

They pissed/shit all over the apartment and tore up shit.
I even bought them a $300 cat tree to jump on, climb, claw, whatever..
When it came time to put one of them down, because it was old and lived under the bed (including pissing and shitting), I'm the one that had to take it to the vet and do the deed.
As much as I didn't care for that cat (I think his name was Cody), I didn't enjoy putting him down.
I didn't care much for him, but that bummed me out..

Then there are my neighbors that have outdoor cats that love to shit in my flowerbeds.
Not a fan of that either..

I've always been a dog person.
A properly kennel trained dog will not piss/shit in the house or tear up your stuff.
A dog will also return the love and companionship you give it.
You're both part of the pack.

Cats don't give a fuck about their owners.
They just look at you like 'feed me bitch'..

I guess life experiences mold us all into what we are and what we believe..
I'm just not a cat person.

    Live and let live.
I wouldn't kick a cat in the cunt for no reason, I just don't care for having one as a pet...YMMV:cool:

I don’t think any cat would be this happy road tripping in the Tundra.
