We watched my FIL go through it a few years ago.
We had to put him in assisted living for his last 6 months with the promise of him going back home when he got better..
He knew that was a lie.
My wife said it was the first time she'd ever seen him cry.
It was a rough 6 months..

 

I've got 11 implants in my mouth.
6 were done in May for permanent lower teeth.
2 of them failed and they had to redo one of them in November.
They gave me a Presidone Zpak and some hydrocodone but I never did take either, didn't need it.
Aleve took care of any pain.

The Presidone Zpak is not so much an antibiotic as a strong anti-inflammatory steroid.
Makes all food taste like shit for a week.
Maybe wait until Friday to start taking it..

But your 1 implant will be fine.
My wife has one and had no issues with it other than they over-sedated her.
At 5' and 100 pounds that was probably easy to do..

Keep it clean, don't suck on anything for a couple weeks , and you'll be OK...

Shit, I think I've had ten lower. Four took. Front 4 teeth are permanent, back 3 on both sides are a partial. I can still eat, so all good.

Thanks.... MIL is doing well; we all knew that day was coming. In truth she lost him a few years ago. I wish I would've gotten to know him beforehand.

 

Ours should be opening up here pretty soon. Never been to one. I think I'll give it a while before I go though. Let the hype die down.

 

I’m doing the same for the store in Goodyear that’s supposed to open next year. Lucky for me I’m about an hour away from that spot, so the timing should work out nicely.
