Anyone here ever done any DuPont fishing?

 

I was just in Hood River on Tuesday. We did 13 miles on the White Salmon. Probably the most beautiful river I've ever seen.

 

So you are doing a summer vacation? Where to next?

 

Sort of. I flew out to visit my best friend for his birthday. He lives in Vancouver. I already flew back home on Friday. I really like the PNW. I could see myself living there but I'm not sure about the dreary winters. The terrain between your mountains and ours here in TN is similar. You just have more evergreen trees than we do.

 

Yeah, my wife is from Georgia and frequently comments that it’s a lot like it was when she was growing up.

As for dreary, it’s the absolute opposite for me! I worked outside in construction in the southwest my whole career and I can’t get enough of fog, drizzle, rain, sleet, clouds and gray skies! Every bit of it, makes me smile!

 

Showing some grit for sure. Cheers to being in the position of making a run at the championship.

 

PNW rivers are some of the best. Main salmon, June 2015...

Spent the day on a plane coming home from our Maui vacation. kinda bummed until I opened a package from ToyoMafia. Suddenly cheered up...

Wish I’d known you were that close…it’s about 1-1/2 hours from me.
I haven’t rafted many places, but the White Salmon I’ve done 5 times now. Is a lot of fun.

The winters aren’t as dreary as we like to make people think they are…

 

No where else in the world I can explore tide pools at the ocean then drive a couple hours and hike on an active volcano or catch some turns in the snow in July…all with out oppressive heat or humidity.

 

Believe me, I'm keen on your climate and terrain. It's on my radar after the kids exit HS.

 

My bad! I was only there for a few days and didn't rent a car. I'll be back though. Next time I'm heading that way I'll give you a heads up.

 

Does anyone here know what DuPont fishing is?

 

I've never heard of it. The Google says it's fishing in a state recreational area in NC?

 

DuPont manufactured most of the explosives that were used in America for the large part of a century. Is this a hint?

 

I meant to respond to this the other day. But I've also never heard of this nor believed you were referring to trout fishing in western NC. I have seen fish being electro magnetically shocked for studies. If you blow them out of the water what's left to eat or study? I can't imagine the bits and pieces being of any value if that's what you're getting at. Unless you're talking about fishing for humans that is?
