They're great trucks on their own, tacoma size with v8 power. I know a lot of people on here may not have come from 1st gens, but the ones who have will sing their praises.

Which that being said, that would be fucking awesome. There's a few SAS 1st gens around, but only 1 on the forum, and he hasn't posted in a while. SAS is the only way to go to run bigger than 35s on a 1st gen.

Yeah, awesome trucks. I've mentioned it before, but my 2000 was in my family for 20 years. First with my son in the back in a booster seat, to it being his 1st vehicle at 16, to shipped across the country for him in the military. Only reason it was sold was that when he got out and came home it didn't make financial sense to ship it back, so he sold it in Florida and bought a new car when he got home.

Man, that sucks. Unless it made sense, then wise decision.

Not sure if I told the story of my truck on here, but I'll do it again just in case. My dad bought this truck brand new in 2002 the day after him and my mom divorced. I bought the truck from him in 2013 for $2500 with 287k on it. I ran it a touch over 300k, replaced the shocks and an abs sensor, and sold it back to him for $2500 when my uncle sold me a 14 chevy 1500 z71 LT2 for $32k. Well, my now ex wife was horrible with money and used my truck payment money from a 2nd account to pay $1k for volleyball without telling me. I wound up 6 months behind on the truck so I sold it and got a 2010 Taurus SHO in 2/16. So between OK and TX taxes work different I guess. The truck was supposed to pay the down payment for the SHO, but didn't. I don't know what happened but in 4/16 my wife hit me with a divorce. I actually took the day off to spend with her and we went for some day drinking action. Wound up at longhorn steakhouse. We left and as I dropped her off at her car I said something along the lines of "hope you don't leave me for someone else" to which she replied, "why would it have to be someone else?". Yeah, that set off a chain of events. I ended up having to let the SHO go due to the tags never being registered, and my new rent payment. I got my 05 corolla xrs back from my mom with 221k miles on it, and it still ran like a champ. I still regret selling that car. Anyways, I move in with the gf and keep asking my dad for the tundra back. Years pass. Finally he calls me one day and says his wife convinced him to give me the tundra back. 317k miles now and has been sitting for a year. My dad gave it back to me for $0. Me and my buddy with his 08 CM 5.7 2wd go grab it on the 4th of July 2018. We booked it down to DFW and returned the same day. It was full of rat droppings inside and they chewed some wiring in the engine bay. But, we jumped it and it started right up. We backed it onto the trailer and headed home. When we got back to Amarillo, we stopped at autozone and put a new battery in. It started and ran fine now, so I took off in it with my friend following. As we rounded the interchange, something felt off. Apparently, a stray piece of the trailer rubbed a hole in the passenger side tire. I threw the spare on and called it good. Nope. Didn't pass inspection. About this time I joined this forum. Holy shit what a wealth of info. Rats chewed my knock sensor wires. New tires. Passed inspection. That was 2018. Fast forward 6 years and now I have 332k miles, 2"lift, 33s, all new front and rear suspension and steering, rear seat delete for 2 15" subs, and God knows how much else I spent on this hunk.

Sorry, I didn't mean to drunk post, but it happens. I'm going to the lake tomorrow so I've been drinking a bit tonight.

Hell of a history of the truck, and I'd say the moral of the story is that your ex wife was a bitch. But, at least you got the truck back.

Miss my first gen, but don't regret getting my 2nd gen. However, I am on the hunt for one again, for my 15 year olds first rig. Gotta get one back in my family...

^ I love all of this.
Not that you got fucked over, but that you persevered thru it all.
Amazing story and I'm glad you landed on top..

There are times I really miss my 2005 DC I had for 10 years and 120K miles.
But I do love my 2014 with 130K miles..

Fired up the Taco last night. No one wants to ride in it except me, so it sits quietly in the garage. 2012 TRD Sport, 60k.

Lusk, WY about ten years ago. My neighbors think I'm crazy for owning two black Toyota trucks that look the same. I don't care and they don't understand.

Just found the AT4s through tire rack for 308, and I save another 60 if I pick up at the warehouse, which is only 20 miles from my house.

Years of being a diehard Oakley sunglass wearer.
I scratched a lens on my latest Ejector sunglasses.
    Replacement lens is $140.

I bought a pair of Piranha sunglasses on the recommendation of someone on the forum.
I bought them to mow, wear in the pool, etc..
Didn't care if they broke or got beat up.
    They've held up pretty well.

I could buy 10 pairs of Pirhanas for the price of Oakley replacement lenses.
I think my Oakley obsession has come to an end...:eek2:

I keep seeing ads for an aftermarket company that makes replacement lenses for all the designer brands, but I can't remember who it was. If I come across it again I'll shoot it your way.

Yeah, I used to be a huge Oakley fan but their quality is no longer there. My lenses start peeling normally within a year and I buy from Oakley or authorized retailers so I shouldn't be getting knockoffs. Even bought replacement lenses a few years back for one pair since I'd damaged the lenses thru use. I've tried Maui Jim's from my eye doctors recommendation but they don't impress me either. A buddy uses Shady Ray's and is happy with them and for the price they don't seem bad. It just sucks cause sunglasses are something you use soo often that you would think more folks would be stepping up to provide a product that folks like and would last a bit.

within the past 2-3 years I gave Shady Rays a shot. i don't require anything fancy while wearing sunglasses and every time i had nice stuff, it got destroyed by other people and/or their pets.
i spend around $30 a pair. have been utilizing their warranty system a couple times from lost and broken glasses and they've been pretty good about them.
just a thought. i've turned a few people onto them. i've got about 8-10 pairs from them between my wife and i (mostly me) and have replaced a couple for various reasons and only paid the $10 shipping fee
