When the "Better half" goes for a business lunch with the Girls and she remembers you :hattip::cool:

Day just got better; on our afternoon walk with Riva' , this guy was making a ton of noise until he spotted someone with a camera had "Found

    him"..:eek2:o_O

He did actually pose for this one.... all of the others were eyes closed or a quick turn of his head...

    Nature & Country living..

    Gotta love it..;)

Obviously no way to tell for sure but it's possible that my bike helmet saved my life when I was hit by a car.

Bike helmets weren't even a thing in the 1970s that I can remember.
We'd get on our bikes at 9 AM and not come home until it got dark..

Not my pics but you get the idea..

The kid in the top photo on the far left by the white car is on a bike like one I had in the early 70s except mine was a single speed. I wanted the 3-speed version but couldn't afford it.

Yes, I had a single-speed purple Spyder bike.
We were all jealous of the 3 speed guys..
    Again, not my pics.

Then in 76, I got a Sears Free Spirit 10-speed for my 14th birthday.
Funny I took off those wheel reflectors off when I got it.
I'm still debadging my vehicles today.

That's a coincidence on the years because it was in '76 that I finally got a 10 speed bike similar to the one you just posted. IIRC, my grandparents gave it to me for my 12th birthday. I rode that bike until I started driving. I don't remember what I did with it after I entered the Navy. Maybe my little brother got it?

I rode Bmx,so I had helmets, never thought to ride around the neighborhood with it on. Nate was riding with a backpack, strap got caught in the chain and pulled him backwards off his bike. Spent a year in a coma before he passed.

now I fight with my kids about it

I remember the Free Spirit 10 speeds! Never had one, but one year for Christmas my grandparents gave me a Schwinn 10 speed they bought used, in perfect condition. I rode the hell out of that thing. Was either that or a Tony Alva skateboard. Yes, I grew up when Alva, Peralta, and the gang were on the magazine covers. Wish I had kept them.

Gonna try to get it done tomorrow, it is going to be 82°..

On a side note to you, Carol Tomé came to our hub on Valentine's Day.
They are trying to figure out how to retrofit our 38-year-old hub and make it automated.
    Her solution?
Tear it down and rebuild it..:eek2:

They need to keep this hub because it backs up to a Union Pacific railyard that we move A LOT of loads on..

    Screenshot_2024-02-24_193435_39bb010f988c4ce8f15019260f4e860bdf0ff3ed.png

When they rebid the jobs next month, I'll have to drive to a different hub an hour away (instead of 20 minutes) for 3 years while they tear it down and rebuild it.
I may just go ahead and retire if I can't find a run that I want.
I'm planning to retire in 4 years anyway...

That sucks.... good for the company making the investment BUT to turn a "Drivers board" sideways stinks... :(

Then again, in todays culture.. we can be replaced; Why I retired early...o_O

You do the "Work & rehab" and your truck is still given to someone else ....
