Yup. Not just a made up place from cartoons. Or a song from offspring.

Our heat wave was nuts. We are not used to 110+ temps. It was brutal.

I bet, and most of your AC systems up there, aren’t sized or designed for that kind of heat.

No they are not. My house was 80 when it was 117 outside. But 80 still felt great compared to 117.

We had a bad heat wave in “the valley” like 4-5 years ago, most systems here are designed for 110 degree ambient, which is still to low. I had a water hose on a condenser(water rejects heat better than air) and I still couldn’t get the unit down to temp. Also since it got so hot it over worked hi pressure switches, no parts house in Phoenix had hi pressure switches for a week and a half! It was crazy!

You'd think places like that would have an abundance of overstock in case things like that happened.

I went golfing in Tempe...I think it was Tempe... anyway, it was like 115 out and it didn't bother me at all. Drink cart followed us around and replaced water as needed. Probably drank close to a gallon in 3 hrs. But the minute I stepped into the pro house, ac hit me and I realized how hot it truly was out there. That was a vacation to see my uncle down there. No way would I survive that living down there on a daily.

    Even their overstock got demolished!

yeah and the shitty part is it never cools down at night. Go outside to smoke at 1am and your sweating like a whore!

doesn’t it boggle your mind how many golf courses there are in the desert? Apparently water isn’t that important(yes I know most is reclaimed or CAP, but still)

Yes lots of courses. And opposite of here. Cheap greens fees in summer because of the heat down there. Cheaper greens fees in winter up here because of the cold.

And yes, it was 89 at midnight one of those nights. But at least it gave the ac a chance to catch up and turn off for a bit once the house got to 72. Woke up at 7 am and it was already over 90.
