I used a flat metal strap and a pipe clamp, secured to the cargo rails with bolts, spring nuts from some conduit rack and a pipe nipple cut in half for a spacer. At the bottom I used a piece of aluminum flat bar to bend into a bracket and booted it to the tie down. I came up with this idea to use the flag pole while tailgating at concerts and ball games. I think I have about 80 or so bucks in the whole thing including the flag pole.

My work schedule has been pretty rough too. I’ve been putting in nearly 6 hours a day. Sometimes for 3 days in a row!
And don’t even think of talking about the commute!

Interesting. 20' extendable collapses down to what, 4'? How stout is it fully extended? Scale of 1-10, '1' being a rubber band and '10' being a sailboat mast. 20' is impressive.
Well now we know you are human after-all. Somebody owes me $20

Wifey did her weekend food shopping/fun run today. I think I have her order finally memorized.

Dollar store (idk, she loves it)
    Beer / wine stores
    Food stores:
    Wegmans
    Shop Rite
    Aldi

For those of you whom do not know Aldi is one of those grocery stores that also will randomly have cool shit.

Long story longer, wifey showed up with a propane firepit “drop in” unit. It was $89 on clearance for $17!

Now our backyard firepit is dual purpose. This will be great for parties and company when smoke is annoying or an issue.

    IMG_0725.jpg

Long post yes, but if you have access to an Aldi, go get a cheap ass awesome firepit!

    Cheers cru!

Collapses to 61" with the little decorative ball gone from the top. I mounted 2 utility J hooks to the left side cargo rail to hold it and with the decoration it just did fit. Base section is 2 1/2" across and only drops to 2" at the top. Prior to my 'MaGyvering" I would routinely set it about 18-24" deep in the sand at full extension with 2 3x5 flags and it wouldn't typically move unless it was really windy on the beach, so maybe an 8 or 9? Really windy days we would have to keep an eye on it and repack the sand or just not fly them if it was really bad or weather was moving in.

Nice! thanx for the info. A true report from actual experience is always king. So it's perfect for a site flag, but quick and easy to pack up and roll. Minimal space with a setup like yours too..... I'm diggin it.
