So I know the tie downs and rail brackets are different sizes. You're going to have both for sale?! I thought it was just tie downs.

New pool, but feels old because they dug back in November

 

We did front, back, and added another on a spigot that’s teed off the main back one around noon, and we’re cruising. Should be done late evening.

 

My neighbor came over last night and asked if $1800 was too much to re-set some bricks on her chimney. After a look, yes.. yes, it was.

Took care of the whole job in about 2.5 hours for just under $100.

A total of eight bricks were loose/had already fallen off.



I’m not a mason, but I think it turned out well-ish…

Hell yeah man, I love helping out a friend. Especially when I hear how much some company wants to charge. Prices are just crazy sometimes. I just replaced the struts on my mom's HHR. 150 for parts and no charge for labor of course. Local shop quoted her 1800 and said the parts alone were 1k. I almost feel like walking in to one of these places and asking what the hell their problem is.

Got all the house knives sharp again.
Found nicks in a few of them, which reinforced why I could never trust my family with a RT kitchen knife as much as I’d like to have one.


And you didn’t get them sharp enough if one of them doesn’t bite you

 

Also cleaned my Pitts & Spitts up and smoked a slab of bacon.




upon frying up the end scraps, I realized that I had forgotten to put salt in the cure when I prepped it two weeks ago… so it’s more like pork meat candy!

Previously when I’ve made it, the cure was dark brown sugar, dark maple syrup, rosemary, black pepper, and Morton’s TenderQuick (which includes salt, sugar, and sodium nitrate). I didn’t care for the flavor that the TenderQuick left in the meat last time, so this time I used Prague powder at the specific dosage, but spaced out that I needed to replace the missing salt.

It’s still really tasty, just no saltiness (which I can mitigate while it cooks)

 

There are two hummingbirds full-on dogfighting all over my entire yard tonight.

 

Them little bastards don't f around they get nasty at our feeder sometimes.
