Actually the courier/ranger was a mazda/mikado in disguise if I recall correctly.

    Edit
the Chevy LUV was the Mikado (ISUZU)

Mazda makes some stuff for Ford. For a while there the transmissions in the Mustangs were Mazda built.

At the risk of showing my age I will tell you that the Ford Courier pickup was built by Mazda for Ford back in the '70s.

The Chevy Luv pickup was Isuzu built.

The Dodge D50 pickup was Mitsubishi built, along with the Dodge Colt and Colt Vista Wagon.

A decade later and Ford, Chevy, and Dodge were building vehicles for the import automakers to rebadge (Ford built for Mazda, etc). Role reversal.

Absolutely correct! It was supposed to replace the Mustang. Mustang lovers all over complained loudly. Ford heard the screaming. We know what happened after that.

As soon as i overload and hurt the yota, i'll wish i'd brought the ford. Steal the battery & fuel, and its good to go.

The best thing about fords with names is that for most you can put "anal" in front of it and it makes it funny.

Explorer, Escort, Probe, Courier, Tempo, Escape, Edge, etc.

So Ford needs to have other brands build their components/vehicles because Ford sucks too much to do it right. Got it.

    Also...Mustangs. :puke:

Everybody has done it, and it's not always a bad thing. 2020+ Supra is a prime example.

I could make an argument about how other brands do it as a collaboration for overall improvement and Ford does it because they're incompetent boobs.

But then it would sound like I have irrational hatred of Ford. I assure you, my hatred of Ford is both rational and justified. :)

I know that Ford and Mazda partnered on both the Ranger/B4000 and Escape/Tribute but I can never remember which was built by Ford and which was built by Mazda.

    I have a slingshot...

The trick to remembering which is which is to remember that none of them are built by Toyota. *sips Kool-Aid*
