I don't get it w/some of you AZ dudes... I flew in to Tucson a few years ago to certify some dogs, and this dude picks me up (I've known him for almost a decade at this point, but we've only had contact at certs/trials in Vegas and various conferences in a hotel setting)... Anyhow, I land at the airport, drag my carry on through the various points and I'm looking forward to jumping into a nice air conditioned car to finally cool off...dude picks me up in his truck, and as he pulls up all windows are down (mind you this is the middle of the summer) :frusty:

So, I ask the guy or kinda comment I guess, 'What's up man, you're AC took a shit on you, huh?'... He replies, 'nah... haven't had it in the truck for years'.... I felt bad, but I can't do that for 2 or 3 days straight. So, I tell the dude, thanks for picking me up but how 'bout you just drop off back at the airport so I can grab a rental car

Hahah both out vehicles have AC, but the first gen has a ball cooler vent.
I do try and hold out as long as possible if it’s nice out, summer and winter.

I used to be able to do the windows thing many years ago, but not now, I must have AC. I actually never had AC on my house until I bought this one 22 years ago. I've gotten so spoiled by AC that last time I had the roof re-coated, I had them rip off and cap the swamp cooler, not going to screw with that shit anymore.
I do still have a swamp on my garage cause I always have the door open when working out there so it doesn't make sense to install AC for the garage.

Random thought- A few years ago the wife and I really enjoyed the Fringe TV series and watched all the seasons.

Anyways, they have been running reruns on TV lately and it has rekindled my feeling that I really want to bang the chick that plays the Olivia character.

I had to add an extra day onto the Sprinkler rotation , less I want to replace everything :p :anonymous:

And YES, we need a "Yota Wrench Event" plus a "Boat/fishing day"... I have it under good advice that my New " Art Piece" needs to be used

When I was in 4th grade the teacher was explaining about skin pigmentation and singled out a Hispanic kid and me as examples of brown skinned people. I’m mostly German, btw. Just spent so much time outside I was tanned darker than a pecan.

Yeah.... I remember when we were house shopping a few years ago seeing the signs (inland off the 5) w/the elevation under 1000' as you go over the little passes, then you'd see Snow Zone or whatever; I thought it would be a rare occurrence, but it seems to get below freezing and snow every winter in those areas. Having snow on the coast here though isn't real common (maybe every 2 or 3 years)....

Where did you end up landing today??

Freakin' electric bill in Vegas was 600-800 month during Aug and Sept

We had 2 units on the house and a swamp cooler on the dog kennel.... Since we worked nights, we ran those things constantly in the summer trying to keep the house in the low 70s (for sleeping). Had a large swamp unit (small whole house model) cooling 300' of kennel building; man that thing was nice in the summer though. I use to walk into the kennel and just chill there for a bit w/the wet cool air blowing on me. Then the dogs would start firing off and it was 'time to go'...

I imagine Vegas being a close 2nd or 3rd behind PHX and Tucson for the shittiest hottest summers.

We did the all star game in Phx one year, and I remember thinking why in the hell would I pay for a mini-vaca to a place that's hotter than where I'm already living....

Back in my early twenties some buddies and I were visiting/staying at my grandparents winter place up in N. Scottsdale during early September aka start of classes. Went out on S. Mill to mingle with the locals and quickly found out at the end of the night that a cab from Tempe to wherever cost a small fortune, $86 to be exact. $86 felt like a fortune back then (once walked 13mi in ME to avoid a $40 cab ride). Being the cheapskate I am, I told my buddies we’d sleep in the car until one of us could drive. Think we made it 20 minutes before one of us caved and paid for the cab..

No AC is not an option down here. FJ lost the main core and I had no AC for 6 months. Fuck that. Dealership wanted $5800 to Fix it. I did the repair it sucked to do but the parts ran around $800. It took two full days but was worth all the effort. I also did the repair in an air conditioned garage.
