Have you ever been to Martins on 4th ave? We were literally at the door of Brooklyn’s pizza, and decided to go across the street to Martins instead, it was different but really good Mexican food. Supposedly he’s been there for 20 some years.

My other favorite spot is Rosas on Campbell and Ft Lowell

Martins seemed to have a lot of soy options if your into that kinda thing

 

Another great restaurant to try! We just have to be careful with what the Mrs eats because she has become gluten-free since getting Hashimoto's Thyroiditis. The gluten sensitivity is pretty severe with her but not to the extremes as full blown Ciliac Disease is. She's very good at choosing the menu items that won't beat her up.

 

Do you guys head this way often?

 

We were going down there about monthly. We like visiting the wine country down there and getting a truly great steak at the Steak Out in Elgin. While we're down there we like trying new restaurants and such.

Right now, however, her mom is having some major health issues (she's in her 80s) and we've put these getaways on the back burner for now.

 

It is super beautiful down there near the vineyards, im not a wine-o so I’ve never been to one. But I’ll have to keep that steak house in mind. Good luck with the MILs health.

 

When you have more money than common sense. Learned the hard way, what a one way street means.

 

On the weekends the Steakout has a chef come in from the Phoenix area to cook the steaks. He hits the mark each and every time! It's local beef at a mom and pop restaurant. Roughly $40 a plate. We think it's worth the drive.

 

Awesome! My butcher sources meat from family farms in that area too. Maybe I’ll check it out for my bday

 

I'll try to hit some of you Tucson area members up the next time we do a getaway. Maybe we could have a little meet-up and dinner. So far we've only met Anthony @TucsonTundra1794 down there when I brought some brackets to him that he got from a previous member (might still be on here) @14burrito. He was super nice too!

That's the place. My wife wants to go to the rodeo at the fairgrounds there sometime. Being from TX I grew up around rodeos. She's from NJ and has no idea what a rodeo is.

 

In scouts we always worked the DPS rodeo at the Pima county fair grounds. It was fun
