I have a vertical pellet smoker from them. I had an issue on a Saturday when I assembled it and fired it off to break in. Temps went out of control, probe thermometer said 600+. Customer support answered the phone and sent me two new parts same day, temp probe and control panel. Turned out to be the control panel, one wire not seated in the connector. But after that, many good smokes. Like with any pellet appliance I don't think the smoke is enough. But I got a smoke tube to supplement. Temp control, price, smoke with a $10 accessory, first class customer support, Pit Boss is good stuff.

Yeah, it's open. The wife and I went up the backside to shoot a few photos real quick. Last second decision. It got dark on us before we got too far up into the snow to get the pics we wanted. But, after we did continue all the way up. Pretty good amount of snow on the road. It started snowing (actually sleet, I think)pretty good at the top. It was pretty nice up there. Came back down the front side. Roads were pretty icy. Road closed signs were back up at the bottom. It was fun. Pics will be up tomorrow, probably.

If I don't help my wife with dinner - by which I mean choose the menu, buy the groceries and do the cooking - we end up eating such delicacies as the one she made us this week: tofurkey with coconut rice.

 

I’m guessing the divorce was amicable and taken care of quickly.

 

Friend of mine has no power at his place until at least tomorrow morning. He's been able to keep his house warm so far but is having a bit of trouble with his generator. If anyone has any ideas, he'd be much obliged.

So what you're saying is if you don't choose the menu, buy the groceries and do the cooking you end up going out for a burger or a steak.

I don't know what she made you but I don't think it was food...

 

Is it an inverter generator or a regular generator?

 

@Dawoofles turned me onto it. He sent me a huge box of different packs and I've made my way through most of it already. I also sent some to my SS.

Is it getting overloaded? Like when the fridge switches cycles or when the heater turns on and off, is it exceeding the starting amps on the generator? This wouldn't make it hot but would make it shutoff. I believe they build safety's into them for that.

 

After reading your and @1lowlife ’s posts about it, along with a glowing review from @Dawoofles , I just ordered a few small bags of it for myself.

 

@Cpl_Punishment my first thoughts being that it's every 15 minutes +/- seems like a possibility of a faulty battery, a sensor reading a load issue and shutting it off, a sensor maybe detecting CO2 or something in the exhaust. some people during the hurricanes turned me onto the exhaust and CO2 reading issues. both i believe were fairly simple fixes.

That's the working theory. He turned one of the heaters down to see if that helps.

 

You do have Buc-ee’s beef jerky. That trail boss is delicious stuff.

 

Generators can be finicky. If it's newer, does it have a maintenance setting that needs to be reset? Also, the on/off on/off nature of it could be a transfer switch that is sticking.

Full disclosure, I don't work on them, but tons of cellular sites have generators and they exhibit this behavior under the above conditions.
