That's probably the understatement of the day.

Back when they were built there was more beach between them and the ocean. But this was inevitable. At least now, once it falls, nothing can be rebuilt.

Some of the houses in the OBX had quite a bit of beach once upon a time. Ma Nature and erosion has taken a toll on all the barrier islands over the years.

When I was a kid I lived in a suburb of Houston, and our neighborhood would regularly get flooded - houses too, not just the street. Where I'm at now, if my street floods, there better have been some old guy building a boat out of gopher wood, or we're all dead. I wasn't worried then because I was a kid, and who worries; but if I lived in a floodplain now I'd be freaking out. The folks in Florida having all this trouble this year - - it's quite a tough spot to be in.

Y'all ever just sit back, think about all the shit you have to deal with and just say- "You know what, just fuck it, fuck it all".

Then decide to drink too much and watch YouTube or something else mindless.

So question for the crew that have aftermarket remote start. Have you heard or experienced these units effecting the starting of your rig??

Mine, Compustar.....when I bring it in for the annual NYS inspection I have to unplug it from the back of the OBII port because the computer can't find the vehicle. Same thing when I brought it in for a TSS sensor recall, the Toyota computer couldn't find the truck. A smart Toyota tech figured it out and asked me if I had a remote start. That's how I found out about the annual inspection issue.

We have the……….. viper on the 4runner, no issues other than when the battery went south. I don’t feel I deserve a remote start yet.
