It’s just not the same. Plus, Tom would have steel-toed flip flops on to protect his piggies.

Still in "clean-up"mode :curls: The last insurance adjuster just made an appointment for October 31:rolleyes:

The best thing about this whole F!@#$%ing $hit show.....Folks are reaching out across the spectrum and helping each other ; Florida Strong is becoming America Strong :oldglory:

As we empty things out , luck brings out Smiles :D:D

My son had minor damage about an hour north BUT lost their fridge ;powa surge when things came back on ...My wife suggests that my little beer fridge that "floated out of my bar/Florida room " be plugged in .... I'll be dam'd... that 'lil bugga chilled back up like it missed my Yuengling 12 packs

OK folks....Hug them loved ones , help that neighbor and most of all

    LOVE THIS LIFE

Yes! Even with all the reports of division, we are all still neighbors and we will band together in hard times.

    Con & I consider ourselves LUCKY....:hattip:

Life got turned on it's side BUT our heads still leave the pillow in the morning..

When things settle down we will rebuild/re-locate but I will applaud the "boots on the ground"..

People returning phone calls and then following up...that's what empowers folks....Our Congressman has been "boots dirty" throughout and our County commisioner's office ( another Red Sox retired  ) Mike Greenwell has been great...

Plus, everyone is SMILING because my always CLEAN Tundra still looks like a work truck :(:mudding:

Enjoy that weekend when you get to it...

It’s great to hear how upbeat you are staying. Not everyone can generate that level of hope and optimism.
As far as enjoying the weekend….

Kids dragged me to the high school football game. My first experience with “Friday Night Lights”. No football at my high school or college. It was great for them, but since I have no in-town friends, I just stood awkwardly against the fence by the end zone. Didn’t help that it was homecoming as well, another thing my high school never did

I've gone to football games at other schools, mostly cuz my gf (now wife) was on the dance team, so she was at each game. I was standing against the fence for the first year until I got to be friends with her school friends and accepted into the pack. Our school was small as well. We had I think about 300 across the school of K-12.y graduating class was "big" with about 30 students. Haha. So I know that feeling of standing awkwardly with no one I knew. Didn't help I was watching the girls dance while standing alone.:spy:

My son played all 4 years plus varsity basketball, so we were well into it. Plus, he played for a good enough team that a few guys ended up on scholarships, so there was that added attention. It was fun, but could get old sometimes.

I did kinda feel like a creeper. I grew up about an hour away, and my wife doesn't have any friends in town either, but she stayed home.

I was at the post office shipping something and I asked a lil bit older lady if she needed help. She had 2 kids prob around 3 and 4. The younger one was crying a bit and you could see the frustration and struggle. She was keeping her cool, but you could see the stress of having to take care of the 2 littles. It was a long wait, so they were frustrated all together. I offered her help and she looked at me kinda odd and declined politely. I realized I was wearing something that I get different vibes from. Basically a snug fit military green shirt, jeans, kinda trucker hat, and bearded. Not the typical "here, help me load these young kids in my vehicle and/or carry my stuff for me" attire.
