Thought I'd put a little something out there for baseball fans...

Hardcore fans probably are already aware of this. However, for those that aren't I thought I'd give a shout out to a player making history this year... Albert Pujols ...it's his final season before retirement and someone w/his accomplishments and character deserve a little recognition (even from a Tundra forum)...




For those that don't know, Albert returned to the Cardinals this year to finish out his career w/the team he spent the most of his time with. Also in his final year is Cardinals catcher Yadier Molina. Most folks are aware of Albert's home run prowess, as he is sitting in the #5 slot on the all-time list w/684 home runs behind Bonds, Aaron, Ruth and A-rod. However, what most folks may not be aware of are his other accomplishments on various all-time lists. So, here are a few for you...

Today Albert went 3 for 4 w/(1) HR; that home run put him in the #3 slot on the all-time list for extra base hits (tying Stan Musial with 1,377 all-time extra base hits) behind only Aaron and Bonds (he passed Ruth last year).

Albert is #8 on the all-time list for Games Played w/ 3,019 (he'll probably take the #5 slot by the end of the season passing Musial, Murray, and Ty Cobb)

He's #12 on the all-time list for Runs Scored w/ 1,884 (he still has a chance to pass Gehrig and Jeter before the end of the season)

He's #9 on the all-time list for Hits w/ 3,329

He's #5 on the all-time list for Doubles w/ 677

He's #5 on the all-time list for Home Runs w/ 684 (only behind Bonds, Aaron, Ruth and A-rod); although he will need to see more playing time, he only needs 12 more Home Runs to catch A-rod and 16 more to have 700 home runs over his career!!!!

Finally, he's #3 on the all-time list for RBIs w/ 2,169 (only behind Aaron and Ruth)...

If you are a baseball fan and have a chance to watch some highlights this year don't forget to include watching this man in his last season as he continues to make history.

Plus, the Cardinals coach is letting him and Yadi have a little extra fun during their last season. Earlier this year, the manager allowed him and Yadi to each pitch the 9th inning of a game they were playing. It was like watching a home run derby, but they were having such a great time doing it, it was like watching kids playing the game... Google it if you get a chance kinda fun to watch.

We caught some rough weather earlier and power actually went out after. Supposed to be out another hour, but we're setup with no problems. I caught a couple quick videos of the lightning storm and some pics. Pretty cool watching.

My wife is a diehard Cards fan and was excited about Yadi and Wainwright retiring together at the end of the season, then lost her mind when Pujols came back. It’s a pretty cool story but I’ll always remind her that the Cubs beat the Cards on our wedding day

That's funny... I was never really a Cards fan, but it was rather interesting to find that my wife's grandfather was a scout for the Cards back in the day. So, needless to say her grandfather and grandmother were both die hard fans. Grandfather passed away a couple of years ago, but seems like my wife's grandmother still gets a kick out of watching the games.

I’m taking Josh to (hopefully) watch Yadi (and the rest of the cardinals) play in August when he makes his last trip to Chase Field.

 

We’re going to that series, not sure what day though. I’ll ask the wife in the morning since she bought the tickets

 

Saturday for us. Hard to believe that’s less than 6 weeks away.

 

A bunch of years back I took a friend back to his house after his bachelor party. When he got in the house he washed his face and got in bed without drying it. The Bachelorette party was at the house and as part of the festivities they had tiny dick shaped glitter. Someone (my wife) threw glitter on him while he slept. He calls me in a panic the next day cause all the red dicks stained his face. It looked like he had tiny dick smallpox for a week.

 

Your hygienist doesn't want to have to clean your lunch out of your teeth. That's not her job.
