Actually, I’m pretty sure there’s no chance of getting elected. It’s a small close knit community and I will pretty much be an outsider till I die. But, there’s something going on behind the scenes and if they just want the current director of my district out, all that might be needed could be a viable option. I’m not gonna politic or put up signs. Local head of the town council is a friend of mine and wants me to put fliers in mailboxes. I don’t care enough to do it

 

Given your location and proximity to the Zoo, you could also talk about keeping jobs local.

Our 10-year-old GE fridge started making popping noises in January of 2021.
We ordered another one from NFM in February of 2021.
The scheduled delivery was April.
Then it was May.
Then it was June.
Then it was August.
Then it was November and we canceled the order.
They held our $2K for 10 months with these bullshit promises of delivery.
Still have the old fridge, still runs fine, it's just a little noisy.

Kinda reminds me of my current situation.
Auto insurance paid for my cat replacement in November.
Every month since then, Toyota says "It will be the end of the month".
Been hearing that for 8 months now..

Ohhh, vent time...

Every 28 days I have to 'sign' an extension to the Tacoma loaner/rental agreement, even though they are paying for it.
They send a text link and it's bitch to sign it in the 10 places on the form on my phone.
You touch the screen and it goes all the to the bottom, or the side, or the top.
I know first-world problems...

The last text I received was last Tuesday
I text responded, 'how about you just fix my truck' and didn't fill out the form.
The rental MANAGER called me and left a voicemail asking me to fill out the form.
I immediately called him back and got his voicemail.
I left him a very informative 2-minute message;
Told him that they've had my truck for 7, coming up on 8, fucking months.
Told him every month you tell me one more fucking month.
This repair was paid for in November.
Although I appreciate the loaner, I want my fucking truck back.
I think I stated that they've had the truck 7 months about 21 times.

He called me back Wednesday morning, apologizing for the delays.
He seemed to show actual concern, more than I get from my service advisor.
I told him I get the pandemic and all that but enough is enough.
No one up there can tell me what the hold-up is.
My service guy won't return emails or voicemails so the only way I can get an update is to drive to the dealership.
Only to be told 1 more month..

Anyway, he said they had a 2 hour meeting about the parts delays this week.
I don't know if he was sincere or if it's just more bullshit.

But I felt better knowing that they know, I've had enough, whether they care or not.
He said I'm far from the only one that has let them know they are pissed.
40 Tundras and Sequoias on their lot waiting for cats.
Some people have a hold on making their payments, which makes no sense to me.
If it's in your budget, pay the damn thing off.
But mine is paid for, what do I care.

That went beyond ridiculous a long time ago.

 

It is his story that made my wife and I pull the trigger on ordering our Valhalla Shields. @1lowlife is certainly taking the whole thing much better than I think I would. I think I would have gone postal on them by the second month without my truck.

 

We haven't had a real problem with it here, but a pretty big cat theft ring was busted a couple counties over. I'm going to call my insurance agent next week and see if they have any thoughts on additional discounts or cost sharing for this. Probably gonna pull that trigger anyway, but it doesn't hurt to ask.

 

Shit, I hope I'm not still washing dishes by hand in December. I guess if it comes to that I'll buy a cheap in-stock dishwasher from HD and sell it for cheap when the new one gets here.

 

Watch craigslist for someone getting rid of one from a reno. I've given away a few over the years when I've upgraded whatever was in the house even though it was still working fine.
