I'm glad you still have time to get out for some recreational activities even with the big drop this week.

Yup. It's a miserable experience, and the worse part is that for 99% of them the only thing you can do is drink lots of water and wait. It made me drastically cut down on drinking non water beverages. I still have soda or some such, but I follow it with an equal amount of water whenever possible. Apparently, chronic dehydration is a major cause.

I'm sorry you are going through this.
The passage from the kidney to the bladder is the worst part.
Depending on how big it is they will assess treatment.
5mm and smaller, they will say you can pass it.
6mm and larger, they will suggest you see a urologist for possible lithotripsy or other treatments..
Mine was 5mm and if I passed it, I don't remember it..

My CT scan showed I have several stones in both kidneys as well as gallstones.
But as long as they don't move, there is no reason to treat them..

The urologist wants me to get an IVP (X-rays with IV contrast) and see if it is still in my system.
An IVP consists of taking laxatives the day before and cleaning out the digestive system.
I don't know if I'm down for that.
I've got enough shit going on with my lower back ablations to deal with that.

It's bad enough doing the cleanout when I have to get a colonoscopy every 5 years...:(

My pain was bad the first day it hit on June 8th.
That pain never has reoccurred, I could feel it working it's way to the bladder, but it didn't hurt enough to take a pain pill.

I've been having kidney stones since the 1990s back when I was a UPS delivery driver and didn't have time to take a piss.
Holding urine for 8 to 12 hours is not a good idea..

They should have given you hydrocodone for the pain.
A couple of beers and a half of hydrocodone makes for not giving a fuck..
But too much hydrocodone will stop you up as far as defecating, I learned that in the 1990s.

Funny how Big Pharma made another drug for opiate addicts that relives constipation.
Instead of working on programs to get them to stop doing opiates...:eek2:

I'm not a doctor, so take my advice at your own risk...:D

A coworker has a chronic kidney stone issue. Missed a few days at work more than a few times.
