I didn't mean to 'like' that.
    I'm sorry.
I've had a 20-year life insurance plan since we married in 2007.
Got 5 years left on it.
It recently occurred to me, why am I paying for life insurance that will benefit her and perhaps my grown kids?

Why isn't she paying for it???????????????????????

It's no problem - just the way it is. Honestly, it's probably safer around here with me not having a life insurance policy...

I'd be watching how she's looking at you a few days before it expires. Maybe start wearing Kevlar and don't leave your food or drinks unattended.

Me too, maybe why I always work for a government agency, they can't turn you down.

I often tell my wife that I can't believe she hasn't offed me yet. Between my federal (retired) and state (current) policies, I'm worth a few bucks dead, a hell of a lot more than I'm currently making.

I love my wife, she is one of the best things that ever happened to me, most of the time.:eek2:
This recent bathroom remodel has been strenuous..
But I wouldn't be surprised if she has her own insurance policy on me that I don't know about.

She has always looked out for herself her entire life.
The main reason I married her.
She isn't with me because she NEEDS me, she is with me because she WANTS to be with me..
She'll be fine when I'm dead and gone, insurance or not...

    Same here..
Between the current life insurance, my company pension (that she would get a piece of if I killed over tonight), and social security, I'm worth more dead than alive..

I did 11 years in the Air Force after Army and Marines declined me due to a heart condition….bummed. I still wanted to serve because family life was a mess and going into the military was the quickest way out. Worked in administration which was cool because I got to see and support flag officers with senior NCOs making decisions. Wanted something new and my first sergeant nominated me to apply for special duty assignment with 101st Airborne as an Air Force liaison. Was going to be jump certified and get some training as or support for forward air controller. Didn’t find out because the heart issue came back up and got declined. It was about this time Clinton did the forced military reduction and I decided to leave. Fast forward to today, 20 years later and got a government job. Was able to buy back my military time which greatly improved my tenure.

Its nice to know that not only are we Tundra brothers/sisters but also brothers/sisters in arms. Thanks to all who served, serving and supporting our troops, and our brothers/sisters in blue.

That’s sucks big time. I’m sorry you got screwed over like that. A good rule of thumb that I’ve seen very few exceptions to: If a company advertises heavily on TV, do not hire them. Electricians, AC guys, plumbers, window installers, mortgage companies, etc. If they have the budget for that, they’re making it up by cutting corners elsewhere. These companies also tend to have massive employee turnover.
I deal with a lot of companies like this. I know of exactly one who advertises on tv that does quality work, retains employees, and doesn’t overcharge.

More likely if they need to advertise, it's because they don't get enough business from referrals.

I actually used them because a neighbor recommended them.
I don't want enough TV to know which commercials are on.

It's the picture window that pissed me off.
I should have listened to the wife and kept the first one we had despite the blemish.
That was less noticeable than the scratches in the middle of the window.
When people come over, they will never notice it, but I'll see it EVERY TIME I look out that window.

They didn't do a bad job on the regular widows, only a few windows that had knocked the plaster off the wall.
It was an easy fix for me to spackle it, I had to repaint it anyway.
But their caulking was sloppy, they didn't caulk the window sills (how much effort would that have taken), and look how much they moved the sill to make their window fit.
I expect people to do the job as I would have and I suppose that isn't a reality.

    vnpx0uvw_341da466d585dfbc77b8265c83bbf261ae46cbc9.jpg izqtlh71_ac01b6d1b9a24448333b444ee363fd250cb9dc9b.jpg oznh8vs3_f495757b73c9b98c75f44ca8274d4caf4066c067.jpg

But you're right, I do listen to the local talk/news station in DFW, that plays the same commercials over and over during the day.
    A couple of businesses we tried from those commercials;
    ZeroRez for carpet cleaning.
I could and have done a better job with the rental machine at Lowes.
I think the carpet was dirtier when they were finished.

We also had Westshore come out for a quote to replace the fiberglass tub/shower in the guest bath.
They wanted $15000 just to replace the tub/shower.
His selling point was "It's only $99 a month", "for what 15 years" I asked him.
We were going to pay cash anyway.
Statewide remodeling was $14000, his selling point was they would knock $500 if we signed that day.
    "$500, how about $5000?", I asked, he wasn't amused.
It's safe to say we're remodeling that bathroom and keeping the fiberglass enclosure..:D
