I was "THAT GUY" at HEB today. I was buying a Boars Head ham for Easter. The deli lady said it was $15 off and it had a digital coupon. I opened up my HEB app and "clipped" the coupon. It then showed me the coupon without a barcode and said the hams were out of stock, "try it in store."

I figured I'd ask the checkout lady. She had no clue. They bring over the head cashier. She looks at my phone and says "Well it says we are out." I pointed at the damn ham sitting on the checkout counter and said "It's right there." She then says, let me go to the deli and get the coupon. I told her, again, they said it's online. She was gone for about 10 minutes and there were quite a few people behind me. I see her heading my way and then she disappeared for another 5 minutes. She finally comes back to me, shows me her phone, and says "I was able to clip it just fine. Are you signed into the app." Now, remember, she was just using my app 15 minutes before. Anyways, I open my app up because I accidentally closed it and I see a little "1" up in the corner. I touched that and my coupon code showed up.

I apologized to the cashier and said "If it was $15 off, I wouldn't have bothered." She said she understood and seemed really annoyed with the head cashier. I heard the lady behind me in line let out a big "sigh" when I left, you know, so I could hear it. I should have kicked her ass, with my ham.

 

We have little mason jar shot glasses. They are pretty cool and would be perfect for your mini Outbound.

 

Well, maybe not kicked her ass. But I could have at least waved my ham at her in a menacing manner.

 

Next time take a shoe and sock off. Give her the big toe. Takes more effort than the middle finger. Let's her know you mean business.

yeah I was a virgin so I was scared when I went to the self check out, different weirdo than usual running it, but I had the QR code up and ready apparently. I know @Azblue said limit five, I could have sworn I saw limit two; but I think the coupon is still in my basket of clippies? So maybe I’ll gamble and try again tomorrow? I’ve seen these stupid coupon apps but I HATE add tracking and human trafficking in general so I usually decline, the other day I had enough!!!!! Literally 29.99 for a case……..or if you sign up and sell your soon to be child, it’s half that…………. Sold!!!

 

Yep, I should start wearing flip flops to the grocery store again. Be giving a lot of big toes to people.

 

I avoid digital coupons like they have lip herpes. HEB usually has coupons hanging all over the place and this is the first time that I know of where they force you to use a digital coupon. I only had the app because when I can't find something, I can look it up and it tells me what aisle to go to. $15 off though. That was worth the trouble.
