There's a local place here called Nonavo - he's originally from Jersey.
Makes some amazing pizza. Local fresh ingredients. Homemade sourdough crust. When he's out for the day, you can fuck off (his words).

Waffles and pancakes are two completely different batters.
pancakes are more like an over-moistened biscuit batter with baking powder leavening, while waffles are more like over-moistened bread dough with yeast leavening.

    As to previous bread breakfast posts;
We quit buying syrup, it always expired before we could use it.

Once the kids got older and quit coming every other weekend, there was no need for waffles, pancakes, or french toast.
That is kid food, too much bread for an adult.
Maybe an occasional Eggo for the wife, but she would put cream cheese on it.

As adults, we like traditional bacon (rarely sausage) and egg breakfast, sometimes with toast or biscuits.
More often than not, a nice version of an Egg Frittata using whatever we have here.
Sometimes a scrambled egg breakfast burrito, but no thick heavy pancakes or waffles.

Although the best french toast I ever made, didn't need syrup.
Using brown sugar in the batter made it sweet enough.
    Powdered sugar?
God no, that ruins anything you put it on..

    Off to bed.
The plan is to give up beer for Lent, wife is giving up wine...:D
Which means giving up alcohol, seems like a good idea.
We did it a few years ago.

You will hopefully be seeing less of my stupid posting here at night until April 17.
    Hopefully even after that..

    Happy Ash Wednesday..

Dropping off my daughter at school (which is on the Mardi Gras parade route) and watching the street sweepers cleaning up. They still haven't found something to clean off the shame from what was done the night before for those beads though.

I had to go into Austin and get temporary crown. They initially thought I’d need a root canal too but there was a little bit of tooth over the root so hopefully I don’t need one. I’ll know in the next few days, I guess, by how the tooth feels.

I’m not a big fan of the dentist. I can put myself in a zen-like state when they are drilling and shit but just not a big fan. I listened to an hour and a half of my old hair rock favorites on my airpods, so that helped a bit.

@gosolo - is today the day the other eye was going to brought up to snuff?

I ate a lot of jawbreakers when I was little. I've got pretty good teeth other than the molar breaking. I had all of my Wisdom teeth but had to get the top two pulled because of cavities (about 10 years apart from each other).

A scared kid at the dentist is almost worse than having a cavity filled.

I've got 4 wisdom that I'll prob have yanked this year. I've been needing to, just need to find the time. I planned on it about 18 months ago, but c&$*% messed up getting apps. I've never had braces, a cavity, or anything like that. But these wisdoms are starting to push.
Blue Plate mayo is just a Louisiana brand mayo. We've come to like it more than other brands. Pretty good.
The wife thought the mayo on the bread was awesome and the kids tore it up.

Man, you're fortunate to have such good teeth - sorry about the wisdom teeth though.

I looked up that mayonnaise and HEB carries it so I'll grab some the next time I'm there.

I pulled off the tape holding it closed about an hour ago and only now got where I can read anything. I can already see and read stuff that I was missing out on for years! Still have considerable impacts from the intense dilation, surgery, and all of the strange stuff they have dropped into my eyes. When it’s all done, I think my vision will be closer to 20/15 than 20/20!

VERY fortunate. My wife hates it. I went 10 years or so before without ever going. She thought for sure a cavity was in my lineup. She legit got mad when I told her they just cleaned them and gave me a cavity search

    That's awesome news man!
Long story short, my sister went legally blind over time (started to learn braile and using a guide stick). After multiple surgeries and promises she almost gave up. One last doc promised he could fix her sight. This is about 20 years after she was legally blind. He fixed her sight. She drives now. She never could! It's still weird to this day seeing her drive. But it was amazing talking to her to hear what things were before and what they are now.
My wife and I are both blessed with great eyesight. I think I'm 20/17 and she's 20/18. I don't really know. All I know is that it's better than perfect and my eyesight is better than hers:p. I definitely don't take it for granted and always have sunglasses with my weak blue eyes that hate the sunlight. Haha
