Weird how in the 90's everyone told us not to trust anyone on the internet, but now people believe everything they see online and lecture us about it.

First time stay on strip somewhere like the Bellagio, Ceasars, or Mirage. Packages are reasonable. That time of year there is no pool activity.
Rent a car if flying and go to Hoover Damn maybe Red Rocks. Or Mount Charleston.
Also research shows and schedule ahead of time. Have one scheduled for every evening, unless your funds are endless and you can gamble all day & night. Lol

They're known for more show, less go. Pipeliners are related to the same type of weirdos who squat their trucks. LOL

One year, I had three different work trips to Vegas in 5 weeks for conferences, and all of them were 4-5 days long. It was brutal…

a lot depends on what you’re looking for. I like going down to Freemont (old downtown) to see the freak show for one night. At the end of the Freemont street area, keep walking a few blocks and check out Container Park. There’s a fire breathing praying mantis car thing parked at the entrance that breaths fire every hour at night. They make the place over 21 at 9pm and it’s a nice change of pace - a few low key outdoor bars and a treehouse structure that’s fun to mess around on if your feeling like reliving a little childhood.

The strip is…the strip. It’s obnoxious. If you’ve never been, then I do suggest popping into the different themed casinos just to see how they have done the themes, incorporated little details, etc. like the Grand Canal shops in the Venetian are all indoor but the ceiling and lighting is such that you’ve got to pay attention or you think it’s just outside.

of course, a lot depends on your idea of fun. If you’re into lounging by the pool with drinks, late October is likely most of the pools are closed. If you like gambling and drinking, go to old town. If you like people watching, then pretty much anywhere. If you like shopping, they’ll take all your money. none of those are my “thing” and that makes Vegas not so fun.

The Neon Museum is kind of cool if you’re into history. The Mob Museum near old town is also worth checking out. I’ve heard Red Rocks is cool but never had time to make it there. Hoover damn is nearby and pretty neat to see. Walk to the middle of the Tillman Bridge and look down… You can do a helicopter tour from Vegas to the Grand Canyon :)spending:). Lots of incredible shows there - from Cirque de Soleil to live music to comedy. And tons of good (albeit expensive) food

Nice! Broke the cigar habit last year but I could go for the bourbon though preferable with her instead of spending time with one arm :D

I just wanna shoot machine guns and drive fast cars. I haven't been to Vegas yet because I'm sure there's cheaper ways and better places to do those things. LOL

She’s into shows and it’s her weekend. I’ve never heard of anything about Mount Charleston, need to look that up. Gambling, try to avoid getting out of hand, just have to go with a limit to what I’m willing to lose. I’m looking forward to the sights and food!

Used to be Knob Creek (KY) and Saddle Butte (OR) did huge gun show/machine gun shoots but both are now permanently canceled.
I know there are privates ranges in OR, AZ, and NV all over that do it. I’ve done it in Vegas once (vendor paid for it) - way over priced.

As for driving fast cars - pretty much any city with a race track has some sort of driving school /fast car thing.

Looks like the thread was created while I was “away from the forums” for a period. I just happened to pop back in looking for something I wrote a few years ago. Accidentally clicked at the top of most recent, and serendipity!

ah man! Was I supposed to have a sticker already?!?

    Hell yeah.
I was also wondering if it’s worth it to leave a stack at the registration table, but I kinda like the personal passing out, we can’t just let anyone in the club;)!

I’ve been asked by SE Toyota to be apart of a TRD Offroad event down here in Florida in April or May as well. I love these events. I’m gonna need to make it out to Sedona for that one sometime.
