I had a 26x Nash travel trailer, at one time.

Dry weight was 6,300 lbs. It's loaded weight was 8,000 lbs.
It's dry tongue weight was 950 lbs. It's loaded tongue weight was 1,250 lbs.

Even with my F250 diesel, I had to put air bags on the truck to be level. Max receiver weight on the f250 at that time was 1,250 lbs.
    Was not fun to tow.
I sold the trailer after two years.

Something not really mentioned here yet is axle articulation. When I first had Sumo springs with a stock non lifted truck, articulation wasn't looking good. Solution, bought a second set and cut them down just about 2.5". For off road articulation, I could then simply hi lift the truck and swap the bump stop/Sumo's in 20 min. without a problem. Not really an issue any longer due to the lift from the leaf packs.

Sounds about right. Mine is a toy hauler and I never had a ATV or MX bike in it. My tongue weight was around 925 lbs.

With a properly set up WDH and having the nose down a little, towed nicely.

Fwiw, factory tires on travel trailers are often garbage, and as with the truck stiffer sidewalls help with stability.

Not saying you can’t - you can certainly do what you want. BUT if you got in any kind of accident towing a trailer of that size knowing it exceeded the advertised capabilities of the truck, a lawyer would have a field day with that. That’s a risk I would choose not to take……
