I just bought a 2008 tundra with 180000 miles and do not know very much about the truck, it appears to be in good shape. I would like to know if I will have any problems towing a 5000 lb. trailer from Penn. to Colorado, I have not driven this truck any long distance as of yet. The truck does have the tow package and 275/60/20 tires.

You will not have any issues. Its below the max weight for towing, just be prepared for bad gas mileage. Keep it at 55.

1st post, welcome, pics of truck?

Search some of the other towing threads for real world experiences. Search bar (top right), select title only, search "Tow".

    Things to consider:
    -Brake controller.
    -Weight Distributing Hitch.
    -Tongue weight.
    -Load E Tires.
    -Keep your speed down.
    -Rear sway bar.
-Suspension, shocks, steering, and tires all in good shape on truck and trailer?

The weight of the trailer itself, 5k, is not a real concern. Pulling it safely is a combination of all of the above.
